If adults want to be stupid and win the Darwin award because they are too lazy or dumb to put on their seatbelt, that's fine, but anyone who doesn't make sure their kid is safely secured deserves to have the government take custody of their child.

Yay nanny state!

Regular seatbelts don't properly secure a child and in a crash a child is more likely to be injured or killed if not properly secured. If a parent doesn't care enough to protect their own kids, then they aren't fit to have them.

Be sure to ask the government for permission before giving your kids a snack, or playing on the "non-compliant" play structure, or swimming without a CSA certified floatation device. When riding a bicycle ensure child is armoured up with helmet, gloves, elbow and knee pads.

And just to be extra safe hurry out and buy that jumbo roll of bubble wrap so they can safely make it through the summer.

Letting kids get some bumps and bruises while playing teaches them how to watch what they are doing and how to handle a bit of pain. Letting them ride in a car without being properly secured only teaches them that dad is an idiot. And maybe what it's like to go thru the windshield or bounce around the car like a bowling ball.

Nice reductio ad absurdum, tack on a mention about Hitler and you'll have the Scoundrel's Trifecta in debating!

If you are too blind to see that some safety regulations for children are a good thing, that's your problem, not mine.

Not any more ridiculous than your call to seize his children for a single incident.

As for my post, ridiculous leaps of logic are something I learned from the political left, and I know how much they hate having their own methods used against them.
