Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy:
WTF does Tony Clement have to do with the Manitoba Grand Chief, or any of the other Native Leaders?

Really? You think the lack of accountability in Attawapiskat is not the same as the lack of accountability in Ottawapiskat? 3 billion dollars missing is less important than several thousand? It's different because they are native, but Tony and Steve are good ol' boys?

ROTFL

Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy:
I'd rather be what you consider a strange man than a hypocrite but it's your choice not mine.

But in the interim, I'll go and take my meds which are perfectly legal and prescribed for conditions acquired during my military service while you'll probably go self medicate on drugs that are illegal and supply money and power to criminal organizations.

But hey, to each his own and I'm sure they'll legalize all drugs like you want someday so you can say you accomplished something in your lifetime to.

There we go with the false accusations again..

Military service 'eh? Are you a Taliban FOG?

What false accusation? Do you or have you ever imbibed in illegal drugs? Do you support people who imbibe or sell illegal drugs?

If you answered yes to any one of those questions then I think you have your answer.

As for military service. Believe what you like because your opinion on the matter means less to me than a piece of nat shit sitting on Portage Ave. But, whether you want to believe or not the fact remains. Unlike you and your drug addled friends I didn`t spend my life sitting at home on my couch eating cheeto`s and watching Sesame street while dreaming up new ways of sucking taxpayer monies out of the Government to give to people who abuse the system.

So, until you can actually stop defending the indefensible, acting like a one trick pony and sincerely stop trying to change the world to suit your own agenda I just can't take you seriously. But, until that time arrives you come off as just another drug using apologist with a hate complex who can`t stop whining about how much worse everyone else is.

BTW what's your new infatuation with the Taliban. Did your subscription to the "I hate Harper" weekly run out?

But since I was never in the military and everything they taught me at the Leadership Academy was a figment of my imagination humour me and play along.
When conducting a divisional interview we were taught to leave the interviewee with a positive at the end that they can work on and feel better about themselves. So just for you.

In one sense you are right. Tony Clements misuse of money is no better than Chief Nutri System's and he should be held to as high a standard if not higher but, once again following your sage advice I'll stay on topic so this, unfortunately is all a moot point in the discussion.

Too bad you never tried it there cutesy Curty...gives one a sense of accomplishment and self-discipline. But then it appears your moral compass may be off a few degrees.

I don't know about that nice FOG dude, but I retired at 53 to enjoy my wife and life. You on the other hand crusty Curty, will never do that. There's my satisfaction knowing that although you will always be a leech on the taxpayer, you will never achieve my level of independence.

Retired at age 51 and I never regretted one second of my time in. If it hadn't been for some barrack stanchion doctor medically pulling the pin on me I'd still be in or at least have stayed years longer :x

IMO it was the best life in the world populated with the best people in the world. [B-o]

Yup Taliban my ass but it would appear that's the best he's got. :D

Wish Canada would hold a referendum to see if Canadian's want to have treaty rights with the natives or if they want all Canadian to be equal. All earn their own way, all pay their taxes all contribute to making Canada a better place.

I for one do not think the Government should be supporting natives. They should have the same right as everyone else. One those that are 100% native should have any chance of claiming native rights, once you are mixed origin you are the same as everyone else.

Sorry if you think the land is yours, it is not, it is all Canada now. Stop living in the past - your great great great grandparents fought off other tribes for the land now it is Canada stop looking for handouts and think that the Government owes you a home with running water. Dig a well, install septic, take care of what you have, stop drinking stop doing drugs, get over it

How about we start with something small?

Like giving individual FN's legal rights over their own property?

Might give the Chiefs a little more to think about when they attempt to sway power on reserves. May even introduce a little accountability into their political atmosphere.

That could work where land claims have been settled already.

For the ones who still claim 120% of B.C., either settle the damn claim
for what your 200-300 band population can really use, or.. no.

A good idea but democracy on a reserve is a pretty radical idea especially for the potentates running them and their starving homeless constituents.

Given the climate of distrust and entitlement on some reserves we'd probably have so many UN observers running around ensuring the elections weren't rigged that Northern Canada would look more like Zimbabwe than a pristine wilderness.

IMHO the secret to solving the native issue is by empowering the rank and file natives to become active in their own communities and take them back. As it stands now I really don't think they feel empowered enough to take on any of the corrupt leadership and simply go along with the party line because that's the way it's always been.

Why couldn't they apply personal ownership to the existing reserves?

Let the claims be a separate issue.

And, just to clarify, my ownership is in regards to FN individuals owning their own property inside their reserves...the same way any of us own (as much as we 'own') our property in RoC.

It is my understanding that all property is owned by the collective, and this does make any form of legitimate politics hard.

I know who I would vote for if my house was riding on the outcome of the 'election'.

My marijuana use is perfectly legal. So you have your answer, and I expect this will be the last time I have to respond to your allegations.

Yeah sure. You support prohibition, so you support organized crime profiting from it, and you support it being sold in every high school across this land. I do not.

Apparently you aren't allowed to accuse people of child molestation around here, even when they accuse you of supporting crime. This one is more appropriate counter attack, because when you accuse me of supporting the people I fight against, I can accuse you of supporting terrorism. It's an eye for an eye.

I'm glad we agree on something. I do however notice you have a "Federal Conservative party supporters" icon beside your avatar. If you want to stay on topic, stop bringing every discussion back to prohibition.

The way forward on native issues includes an end to the name calling, and reciting CPC propaganda about Attawapiskat at every opportunity, as well as levelling the standards for health and education between reserve and non-reserve communities.

I earn more than enough to provide for my family, and pay more than my fair share of taxes, TYVM.

Nice try though. Stereotypes don't always work out, I recommend avoiding them.
