martin14 martin14: jeff744 jeff744: Better than the kind of recognition we got from this: Going to let you in on a little secret. No one outside Canada has ever given 2 shits of a partial fuck about the Natives. And they never will. Can we nominate Diamond Jubilee recipients as CKA members? I nominate Martin, for heroic efforts at trolling.

Curtman Curtman: 2Cdo 2Cdo: Sorry but no excuse. It would take mere minutes to change his clothes and he wouldn't have ended up looking like a dick. How about the guy in the suit who was a dick for choosing that time for a photo-op with the beebs? It's sad really, but I don't blame the kid for his ethics. This "kid" has handlers who should have told him to dress appropriately for an event involving a WORLD LEADER. Train engineer outfit= inappropriate. Thats not ethics either, thats common sense. The "kid" at the very least has no judgement.

How you can type that you don't engage in partisan hackery without slipping into a giggle fit every time is really beyond understanding. Each time you post such utter hog shit you eat up just a bit more of the very tenuous credibility you have when it comes to discussing political issues in a remotely non partisan manner.

Are we days away from you posting Residential School pictures or Auschwitz photos in the hump day hotties thread as well because you feel some compulsion for a political statement of the day? Maybe you could start a new thread just so someone can come by and drop a Thong Thursday pic in for colour. Honestly, Jeff, that was a Pam Anderson PETA move you just pulled. Bravo.

As well, you may receive invitations to other formal events where the medal can be worn. The invitation card will mention “With Decorations.” It is always appropriate to ask your host if you are not sure whether your medal should be worn. When you wear your medal, it should always be worn on your left side, above your heart. If this is your only medal, wear it as you received it. If you have other medals, we recommend having it mounted professionally. It should be suspended from a medal bar together with the other decorations, arranged from left to right in accordance with the Canadian order of precedence. A military tailor in your area should be able to do this for you. Listed below are the guidelines for the appropriate wearing of medals. Daytime Events During daytime events, such as medal presentation ceremonies, parades and official receptions, the medal can be worn with business attire or uniform dress. The Diamond Jubilee Medal is worn attached to the left side. Women may also wear it on a bow, just below the shoulder. Let's give it to beebs, a half hour before the show.. Sorry, I'm just biased it's not a desperate attempt at making Harper look cool. It's a real tribute to the queen and her majesty.

Bravo. Just pointing out that it's still good publicity and much better than pretty much the only other kind of publicity the world seems to like about Canada.

Make sure you irrelevantly bomb as many threads as you can to make your point because no one ignores or reviles a one hit social issue wonder.

Here's who was entitled to receive the medal in the UK: Official Diamond Jubilee medal An official medal has been commissioned to mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Find out more here. To mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, an official medal will be awarded to those in the Armed Forces and emergency services, and to prison service personnel.
The following people will be eligible for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal:
- members of the Armed Forces (regular and reserves) who have completed five full calendar years of service on 6 February 2012
- emergency services personnel who have been in paid service, retained or in a voluntary capacity, who have to face the prospect of dealing with emergencies as part of their conditions of service, and have completed five full calendar years of service on 6 February 2012
- operational prison services personnel who regularly face difficult and sometimes emergency situations and have completed five full calendar years of service on 6 February 2012
- all Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) who are in service on 6 February 2012 and have completed five full calendar years of service
- living holders of the Victoria Cross and George Cross
- members of the Royal HouseholdI'm surprised that Canada didn't follow a similar sort of policy! As far as Bieber goes, I don't begrudge him the medal although I do think there are far more deserving people out there. I do think, however, that he was dressed appallingly for such an occasion. He probably does a lot of outfit changes during his concerts so I'm sure one more wouldn't be too difficult. I got mine anyway:

Newfy Newfy: Here's who was entitled to receive the medal in the UK: A cool story but not really relevant. The Queen of Canada and the Queen of the United Kingdom may be the same person, but the Monarchy of Canada is independent of the Monarchy of the United Kingdom.
