I also disagree that a Canadian Bus Driver would face Charges or Disciplinary Action over such a situation. It is pretty clear that she was endangering everyone.

Lord knows I don't agree with andy on much, but I'm afraid in Canada our legal system would charge him and find him guilty. :(

He would definitely be charged. The danger to his passengers stopped once he pulled over and parked. His punching her out wasn't preventative, it was punitive. Its a straight up assault.

Provoked? Totally.

It would be up to a court to decide if the force used was lawful if this was in Canada. My thoughts are that he would be convicted pretty easily in a Canadian court.

I'm thinking a Canadian court might not see that force applied as reasonable force. An ejection would have been more prudent.

A modern Canadian court would object to Karla Homolka's victims fighting back.

I don't know Bart. Look at this video like the police and a court would, take the emotion out of it and look at the circumstances and the law.

I believe that reasonable grounds exist to believe that his guy stopping the bus, getting out of his drivers seat and going up to this chick and punching her in the face constitutes an offence.

And that's partially whats wrong with our legal system. Some people NEED to be punched in the face!

The shortcoming of Canadian justice lies in that they all-too-often are unable to recognize those moments when someone just needs a punch in the face.

Another favorite quip of mine, "There are people alive today only because I don't feel like going to prison".

In certain crimes, I think that's a problem when CDN courts factor out emotion. I understand it's hard to measure properly from person to person since there's nothing tangible about it, and sometimes it's totally irrational.

But under some crimes and certain circumstances emotions coupled with an instinct to protect. I think it's human nature to lose it and excercise justice with extreme prejudice.

eg. That man in the U.S. who interupted a hired hand molesting his son, he bludgeoned him to death, and he was not charged with anything.

I sometimes feel like my boss needs to be punched in the face. Damn court would probably see something wrong with that too!

Did someone need to smack the Bi@ch? Yup! Was he going to get charged for how he did it? Yup. Eyebrock already explained why.

I'm not sure what she did exactly before he stared saying "now you're going to jail" (could not see well) but if she smacked him then what he needed to do to have a leg to stand on is given her that uppercut the moment after. Problem is she backed away and he hunted her down.

However tow things will work out here. When she goes to jail, and I'm sure someone like her will at some point, her mouth will get punched out on the range. Two, I bet she'll still think twice before counting on a man not hitting her in the future.
