Curtman Curtman:
Robocalls are not illegal. Robocalling to direct voters to polling stations that don't exist is illegal. Harassing the opponents supporters is illegal. The pot can call the kettle a liar and a cheat if it is one, black and white.

Oh I see. Robocalls and voter harrassment are nice and legal until the Conservatives do it, and then it becomes bad and illegal. But as long as the Liberals do it, it's okay, because they are honest and pure and would never do anything out of line.

What an interesting world you live in.

Perhaps you need to look at the posting history you refer to.

Take a look at some of the political things I've said, even as close as last week.

Partisan's don't call the for multi-firing of people within "their" party...they defend them to the end. Partisan hacks don't claim their party will lose the next general election.

The worst blind spot is when we look at ourselves.

You seem to be confused about the issue. Robocalls means automated calling. There is no issue with "robocalls". Not robocalls from the CPC, the Liberals, or the Christian Heritage party. They are allowed.

There is an issue with misleading and harassing calls. Those calls were automated. One party making misleading and harassing robocalls, does not make robocalls "bad and illegal". Misleading and harassing calls are and always have been.

You are experiencing a logic breakdown. Think this one over tonight, and it'll start making sense in the morning probably.

I'm not sure what you base that hopeful bit of thinking on?

Since when have the uber-partisans here even stepped backed from their rhetoric to embrace an outside point of view?

You seem to be confused about where you stand on the issue.

You say there's an issue with misleading and harassing calls yet when the party you're a member of does get caught and fined, you reply with:

$1:
This loser was exposed as an extremist. Totally worth the $5K.

So is it bad or is it OK depending on the message and party?

When a politician makes a random call to people without any identification going on about pro/anti-abortion issues you consider it a "mistake" and "totally worth the 5k" fine that they got.

That's gutter/bush-league politics. Spin it however you want.

The difference is, there was nothing illegal about the content of the message. It didn't include the "this message is paid for by The Liberal party" or whatever. Whether it was misrepresenting the message to omit that, was definitely wrong if it was intentional. It did not however contain a message saying it was coming from the CPC or Elections Canada when it had come from the Liberals. It's extremely difficult to imagine that a situation like that would be anything but intentional.

It's not something I'd be proud of if I was involved in that particular campaign if that's what you're asking. But it's not a deliberate attempt designed to keep voters from casting their ballots either.

weaselways weaselways:
Overpaying for a lemon of an aircraft. The F35.

IMHO, the F-35 is beginning to look to me to be less of an aircraft and more of a con job.

You left-leaning, anti-military types are all the same.
