I dont care if I am sober and have nothing to worry about. I dont want the police pulling me over without justification. I want them to do their jobs, not become public nuesance number 1.

$1: A breathalizer test is not a preventive check to see if you drank or not? A mammogram is not a preventive check to see if you have breastcancer or not?
Correct neither prevent anything a breath test does not prevent someone from being drunk and a mammogram does not prevent breastcancer. They are checks to see if you are drunk or have breastcancer. $1: Breath tests are random, but mammo's are not. Ok.
Cops pulling you over because they can/want to, do to no violation on your part and administering a breath test. I've yet to see a Doc. or nurse grab a woman off the street and force her to have a brest exame.

breath test may have a preventative/auditing quality to it, but pulling someone over with no suspicion is also a matter that needs to be considered here.

ASLplease ASLplease:  but who are the best drunks? the ones that cant drive, or can drive? The ones that can't spell nuisance. With all the shite spelink going around, I think the Po-lease should be doing random spelling checks. Hanging out near universities and swooping in on unsuspecting shit spellers whose grammatical prowess has been finely honed by 10,000 text messages that involve moronic abbreviations of every day words. No charter breaches there!

Just an observation: The people who seem to be most in favor of having the police conduct random sobriety checks of drivers because the 'safety of the many outweighs the rights of the few' are, curiously enough, arguing against that very same principle when I say we should keep Muslims off of airplanes. I'm NOT starting the Muslim thing here, we already have a thread on that, but I'm using it to illustrate that if you invoke this principle to justify going after drunk drivers that it will lead to that principle being used in ways you may not like.

ok, I admit that your spelling and grammar on this internet forum is better than my spelling and grammar on this internet forum. Somehow, I think I'm supposed to feel depressed about this, but guess what? I don't, because it is likee arguing which one of us is classier based on the color of the wine we drink with our tuna sandwiches.

We should just ban people from flights, how about that? We already screen the innocent on airports, so there is no reason to ban anyone based on religion, race, gender, or sexual preference. The only ones we should ban from flying, are people who test positive, just like we should take everybody off the road who tests positive. So, with your logic, we should give everybody a sobriety test before they get into the car.
