EyeBrock EyeBrock:
I really don't care what you think.

The rabid partisans like you is completely unable to accept the possibility that one of their own could possibly have an independent thought and find fault with their beliefs. The problem is pathological but can be treated. It only requires a minimum of firing neurons and a scintilla of objectivity. Unfortunately it also requires pulling your collective noses out of Harpers ass so the prognosis isn’t good.

Gee, I guess I don’t care about your opinion either! Fancy that!

Actually, if you go to the CAPP site, that's not too far off from some of the comments.

I don't think the record shows EyeBrock as "rabid partisan." And he needs all his neurons to work on his percentages!

Some of you guys crack me up if you think proroguing parliament again is the worst thing to date Harper has pulled that no one should stand for. Instead you should be all pissed because YOUR party collectively voted bills through tabled by the Conservatives that have been intentionally stalled in the Senate for purely partisan reasons and that alone, and the ones that do “appear” to get through are so molested beyond belief that their going to be rejected by one if not all parties .

This is why he's shutting it down for the 115th time in its history. It also doesn't help having Canadian funded separatist party throwing their ethnocentric monkey wrench into the mix every chance they get at our own expense.

The Senate is ignoring the will of governing parties and not because some Afghani slapped around a prisoner after transfer, nice try with that spin. Not that this should be our problem anyways, wheres the UN when you need them the least they can do is take care of the prisoners, that is of course if people are actually that appalled when/if the Taliban get "slapped" around once and awhile, which i find to be a disingenuous arguement.

Even though they aren't sitting, doesn't mean they aren't working. On a per capita basis Canada has given more to Haiti than any other nation so Lawrence Cannon and his minions haven't been sitting on thier asses.

So have fun at your protests tomorrow ya left wing weenies, that's if the 0.1% actually show up, see ya at the polls when you have to actually have to choose between Iggy and Harper.

Enjoy your collective circle jerk tomorrow !

There we go, right back to the partisan hackery.

It's about reforming a system of our democracy called prorogue. It makes no difference if you show up to protest Harper abusing proroge, or the Liberals abusing proroge. Do something about it.

Its one thing to be apathetic, but to actively encourage others to be apathetic s well is just sad. Its hard to guess at what might motivate someone to do that.

OnTheIce OnTheIce:
Either way, this is a lose-lose situation for the Liberals and mainly, Ignatieff.

If Iggy votes FOR the bill, he'll go back on decades of Liberal 'policy' of prorogation. Long time Liberals won't let that happen.

If he doesn't vote for the bill, which is the most likely case, it makes all of this crap coming from the Liberal camp about Harper being undemocratic just political games. He'll make all his MP's crying about this look like idiots.

Ignatieff and the Liberals will find some way not to support the NDP and in turn, shoot themselves in the foot. Again.

In the end, the only thing accomplished was wasting time in the House. Jack Layton can try to be the saviour all he wants, but tomorrow, he'll be as irrelevant as he was today.

The only thing that I can see causing the libs or the bloc to vote against it, is whatever else the bill might contain. As long as it is focused on getting the house to vote on prorogue, there shouldn't be any reason for even the Conservatives to vote against it.

The Liberal policy of prorogation? Everyone talks about Stephen Harper having prorogued twice. It's actually three times out of four though.

September 4, 2007

December 4, 2008

December 30, 2009

There has been only one session that didn't end in prorogue so far. The one he ended when he called an early election, after running a campaign promising fixed election dates which would solve the problem of the PM being able to call an early election.

If you're upset about the Liberals abusing prorogue, then by all means get upset about it and do something about it.

If you sense some hostility towards Harper himself in the anti-prorogue group, it's definitely there. It's not the point of the group though.

"Several hundred in Halifax", "Over 3000 in Ottawa".

Get ready for the "that's all?" response from the nay sayers.

I guess Steve was wrong. They did notice and they do care.

I think we did pretty well in Winnipeg too, especially considering the wet weather.
