I love it when there's a Make Me Laughs game on the tube as it keeps the nutcases off the net....

If only Matlock marathons were more common and we could keep the dumbass old farts drooling in front of their JAPANESE T.V.s instead of pooping their crap all over CKA. Night, gramps, you've had enough dementia for today.

Punk off punk and read what I wrote... Taxis are mostly large and mid-size cars. According to JD Powers the top 3 large size cars are domestics. 2 of the 3 mid-size were domestics... his fully explains why domestics are used....

Image

Based upon the chart for 2008 mtbr himself posted Mercury & Cadillac were ranked above Toyota... and in #2and #3 place...

I posted the chart for JD Powers 2007 earlier in the thread which listed
1. Buick
1. Lexus (tie)
3. Cadillac
4. Mercury
5. Toyota

In 2007 3 of the top 5 were domestics. You were the blokes that insisted I check with JD Powers and I did... And domestics got good over all ratings...

Get a clue gramps, we said over the last 10-15 years, NOT just one year. Also, i specifically quoted Consumer Reports and you've bitched out from using that one. You're wrong. Deal with it.

Then you dig up the stats and prove me wrong...

Please refer to the post on page 13 quoting the April 2009 issue of consumer reports. The most reliable brand regardless of model was Honda. The least reliable brand was Chrysler and the second worst brand for reliability was General Motors.

I also notice a lot of taxi drivers are now buying a brand new Toyota Prius instead of buying a 2 to 3 year old large car from Chrysler, Ford or GM. The economics of running the Toyota exceed the difference in purchase price.

Heck, I've been seeing a bunch of regular gas-only Camrys as taxis lately.

Saw my first one about 8 months ago and did a double-take. Getting to be more common now

Good... as taxi owners and operators will only use cars that are reliable and dependable... This also tells me the Camry is quickly catching up to it's domestic competition...

Then why were they not used as taxis before.... Again look at the JD Powers rankings for large & mid-size cars.... Or do they use Smart Cars, Corollas and Escorts in your town?

Inertia. Dumb decisions or mistakes made early in a product's or service's history have a way of becoming entrenched because short term costs of switching are too high.

Motor Trend Car of the Year Awards

$1:
2009 Nissan GT-R
2008 Cadillac CTS
2007 Toyota Camry
2006 Honda Civic
2005 Chrysler 300
2004 Toyota Prius
2003 Infiniti G35
2002 Ford Thunderbird
2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser
2000 Lincoln LS

Prior to 1999 there was a separate Import Car of the Year and American Car of the Year. After 1999 they were combined...

So in the last ten years domestics have won it 5 times and imports 5 times...

Again...is this willful stupidity? They were CHEAPER!! Do you know how large domestic fleet arms were?

Look at JD Power (which, again, you didn't even know existed, Car-Guy) over the last decade and tell me how the Camry fared against Malibus, Taruses, Intrepids and Impalas.

Weren't you the one that was complaining about Motor Trend earlier? Damn, do you have any pride? Want to look at Consumer Reports? Or C/D Top Ten? Or do you only cherry pick what proves your dumbass point and ignore the rest? Is this "hammer and nail" smarts again?

Still waiting on those "magazines" and Lemon Aid, liar.

This is about dependability? Nope. Reliability? Nope. Depreciation? Nope. You're making a point? Nope.
