Thanos Thanos: If it happens it will be Alberta and Saskatchewan joining first, probably as territories like Puerto Rico or Guam. Oh hell no! We deserve more respect that what they receive. Full Statehood, with Electoral College votes, minimum!

Thanos Thanos: Highest election turnout in Alberta in almost 45 years, with 70% of eligible voters participating: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton ... -1.5102889So, people were motivated to vote. Can't imagine why, the previous government was perfect, no ? End of the CBC AB coverage.... "This is not your grandfather's Alberta. 53% votes for UCP, it shows there are divisions in the province." Oh but remember Dopey's 38% was a clear victory..... He was seething with hatred, absolutely seething. Couldn't stop laughing. Paid for by taxpayer dollars.

Rachel Notely showed more leadership during the Ft. Mac Wildfire than PM Selfie and she stood up against the Federal NDP’s Leap Manifesto. What didn’t help her was certain cabinet ministers like Sarah Hoffman’s “sewer rats” comment. The next four years will be interesting.

I have pretty conservative friends that liked her. Her problem was the idiots in her party. We'll see how Kenney's Alberta shapes up.

I too have conservative friends who got brainwashed by Ezra and Facebook, and hate her intensely. But when asked why they detest her, they can't explain their reasons.

We'll see how Kenney's Alberta shapes up. I too thought she did pretty well. I too have conservative friends who got brainwashed by Ezra and Facebook, and hate her intensely. But when asked why they detest her, they can't explain their reasons. She flies the orange banner. Exactly. When asked they'll give some incoherent blurb about 'carbon tax'. "She introduced the Carbon Tax" will be their reason. But when told it was actually Allison Redford who introduced it, their eyes glaze over. I ask "What about the Carbon tax don't you like? Is it because it funds LRT expansion, Green energy jobs, or that it reduces pollution?". Blank stares. They are angry, but don't know why they are angry. That is the politics of division, and it's concequences.

Okay now the winners of the election do they stay in office for a set number of years, are there term limits? Also for those who voted for the winners will you still support the candidate if not all of their promises come to fruition.
I'm curious to see if there is any back lash towards the Dems in 2 years. Many who were elected in the mid terms ran on Impeaching Trump and seems like within 2 weeks of office they backed off that line of speaking real fast. As a voter I try to pin point key things the candidate I vote for promises. I don't always expect those promises to come through but I watch to see 1) if they even try to do what they said they would. 2) do the stop trying at the first sign of resistance. 3) how many of the things they said they would do (that I voted them in for) actually gets done.

No term limits in Canada. Our longest serving PM was William Lyon MacKenzie-King. He was PM for 21 years, Sir John A. MacDonald served almost 19 years as PM. There have been Premiers that have served over 20 years... a couple served 25+ years as premier.

They have a maximum term IIRC of 5 years, but there is legislation to encourage an election call every 4. (That might be a federal rule, not sure). No limit to the number of times they can take office. I for one, did not vote for the winners because I think many of their promises would be harmful for the long term stability of the province. They are short term thinkers, and may boost the economy short term, but will result in another massive crash in 8 - 10 years, like we've experienced under them for the last 60 years. I actually hope they don't fulfil their promises, and fully support them in that.

But he also asked a two part question - do they stay for a set number of years, and are there term limits? (like the 22nd amendment)
