Frankly, Obama's ideas have merit - why are companies rewarded by shipping jobs overseas? Those types of loopholes should be eliminated so that people can get back to work and start paying taxes. His idea for 'international taxes' is a good one too - why let people take their money out of the country to prevent taxes and employ people elsewhere.

The problem is that too many of the ultra-rich are too greedy - $10 billion isn't enough for them, they've got to grow it to $20 billion or $30 billion. Seriously, how much is enough?

I don't have a problem when companies/people do it in a fashion by employing people and making products, but when they ship jobs overseas (and reap the rewards from increased share prices/dividends as a result), they're not really a part of the solution to keep the US on top - they're part of the problem - and a key factor in allowing China to emerge as a global power.

People in the US need to start looking at the next quarter century, and not just the next quarter. The lack of long term vision is killing the US.

Obviously I don't disagree. I wonder how Germany does it. They have high labor costs and taxes. Yet, they are an exporting superpower. We should be looking to emulate them. One thing for sure is that they have a much better trained workforce.

Better late than never, I guess.

$1:
Obama said he would ask his attorney general to establish a special financial crimes unit to prosecute those parties charged with breaking the law, and whose fraud contributed to the 2007-2009 financial crisis that plunged the United States into recession.

Only took him 3 years.

He had to make sure that his friends, like George Soros, had covered up their misdeeds before he mentioned the investigation. Also, care to bet that the investigation talk will end immediately after the November election?

See, the problem with Obama's attack on the 1% is that it hurts Democrat politicians and political supporters far more than it does Republicans.

If your statements are true then why even bother trying to start an investigation? The very action you are railing against shows your points are kind of silly doesn't it?

That and why are we suddenly equating Obama with the occupy 1% crowd. We all saw how much he stood up for their rights didn't we?
