They all seem to be goofs M1. I'll vote for the goof that takes the least amount of cash from me.

Dalton took loads and wasted it. His time is done, send along the next goof.

All the years that Rob Ford had to ensure being called names by the same councilors who are whining now in the same chamber, well, I guess payback's a bitch.

Sorry, i'd rather take Dalton (and his share of mistakes) than a Harris-throw back who won't get rid of the HST, all-day kindergarten and will only download more services, thus costing me more!

Hudak might cut taxes (not getting rid of the dreaded HST, of course) but you'll get junk service, higher use fees and equally bad government. All to save a couple of hundred bucks? Wow. I guess some have short memories for the Common Sense Revolution fiasco.

I don't get all day JK/SK now. 6 schools out of 45 are doing it in my School District.

Dalton is doing so many things wrong it would take me a long list to spell it out.

From the Health Care premium ( and no hospitals built in my Region in 20 years but the population has doubled- 'Smart growth') hydro rates guaranteeing 80 cents a kw/hr to Samsung's windmills for 20 years, HST, taxes on taxes on taxes for gas, ER waits for hours, untendered contracts for billions etc etc.

I couldn't care less if Hudak was a Harris bum-boy. He isn't Harris so let’s give him a go.

You are quite entitled to your opinion but it doesn’t make mine or those of us you label as intellectual dullards for voting for Ford, any less valid than yours.

Dalton has been a disaster. And remember, we all get a vote as Miller and his stalwart lefties found out.

Let the people decide, after all isn’t that what democracy is about?

This thread was brought to you by Talk 640. Bringing sports nutbars and right-wing pundits together to propagate the formula for everyone driving to work.

And that's how and why we elected this mayor folks.

What a patriot you are, Brock. If only we all could be bribed so easily. *sheds tear*

I agree with a lot of what you say, EyeBrock. But when you say "let the people decide", is that necessarily a good thing? I mean, I'm all for democracy, but Ford, Cherry, Fantino, Hudak, Hillier? Are these REALLY the people who Conservatives want speaking for them? Representing them? Is this the best you've got? If it is, then I'll side with Mustang and say I'd rather have Dalton. I'd rather a twit than a twat.

Man, these left-wingers on TO city council have skin hides in addition to the intelligence of a dimwitted carp. Cry me a river.

Mmm, well I know that Dalton is shite and he's going to cost me even more money. I can't vote for him.

I agree that the alternates are not appealing. I've even considered the NDP but I just can't let even harder-core lefties than the Libs take any more of my money.

I'm willing to give Hudak a go. If he's worse than Dalton he will be gone in 4. I am not willing to deal anymore with the devil I know. Bring on the one I don't.

Oh and thanks Martin, I forgot about the fuckin dandelions!

Brock, what you are missing is that when you elect incompetents, they waste money on ill-advised harebrained schemes b3ecaue the distrust expertise.

Exhibit A: Ford's multi-billion dollar subway to nowhere proposal, and all the contract cancellation fees for work already started and contracts already issued for Transit City. Nobody anywhere has ever recommended such a cockamamie project, it's just something the idiot Robert Ford made up all on his own one day and its going to cost the taxpayer dearly.

Exhibit B: His pledge to hire 100 new police officers, despite the fact the he never consulted with police or any law enforcement experts when coming up with this little cookie. Again, just something he dreamed up all on his own with very little thought or study. Toronto Police are already struggling with a personnel budget that consumes 90% of their resources, and have had their force has already grown by several hundred under Miller. The Feds gave Toronto police a temporary subsidy for the personnel increase that is set to expire next year. Toronto Police Brass would rather have new money than more salaries to pay. But Boss Hogg likes cops and big round numbers, so we get 100 more cops, whether they are warranted or not.

Exhibit C: The immediate cancellation of the vehicle registration fee, to be effective January 1 will cost the city $624 million in lost revenue and in new direct costs because by the time the the necessary laws and bureaucratic changes are made later in the year, tens millions of dollars in refund cheques will have to paid out retroactive to January 1. If he made the fee cancellation effective just a little later in the year, this would not be necessary.

The fact that you couldn't care less about Hudak being a Harrisite speaks volumes.

Sorry, if i want to label those that voted for Ford, dullards, i'll do so, and if they're so intellectually insecure that they don't like it or can't articulate their electoral decisions, then so be it, but uninformed voters produce uninformed governments.

I know my history - I want to avoid another Harris.

The people do get to decide, but sometimes they're wrong. That's also democracy.

And i'm no champion of Dalton either, but if you think you'll save $$ under Hudak or that's the only reason to vote for him, then i think that's pretty shallow and smells a lot like the sentiments of '95. And we all know how well that one turned out.

It's too bad this government-of-the-angry is the current zeitgeist, but hopefully, cooler, less belligerent, Ontarians will carry the day.

Sorry to burst your partisan bubble, but this isn't a contest - i want the best government for my province, not the reactionary mobocracy of the current crop of politicians.

If you liked Harris, Hudak's your guy. Good luck and rest of us will get ready Harris II: Uncommon Sense Resolution. :(
