Oh you poser Bart!
I hate LHR. Prestwick is way nicer but it's full of Jock-Gits. Manchester isn't a bad little airport.

Well, I tolerate those Jock-Gits so I can visit my Jock-Git family :P

There were no piper spots in the civilised regiments. They have brass bands........

Re: Anger rising over 'intrusive' screening, Nov. 16

Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports:

All we need to do is develop a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but that will detonate any explosive device you may have hidden on or in your body. The explosion will be contained within the sealed booth.

This would be a win-win for everyone. There would be none of this rubbish about racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and expensive trials.

This is so simple.

I can see it now: You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the public address system, "Attention, standby passengers! We now have a seat available on Flight 257.

Too bad it wouldn't work.

Hmmm, I don't see why not.
Or would it be against a suicide bomber's civil rights to be prematurely exploded?

I don't think we have the technology to remotely set off all bombs. The shoebomber was trying to light a fuse. If all we're dong is putting people in this chamber, the terrorists will just switch to fuses that are lit. Another way to defeat this is to not connect the igniter to the bomb until past security.

If there is a way to set off all explosives remotely (tho I can't see how), this is a very elegant solution.

Well, I knew that technologically it wasn't feasible...yet
My response was more of a tongue in cheek comment about how some civil liberties jack-off would get all bent out of shape about this IF it could be done

"Attention Mohammed, clean up in booth 5, please!"

I missed your meaning. The bomber's union could file a human rights complaint that they are being discriminated against because of their religion and ethnicity. Probably win it too.
