People are walking by and lighting candles in front of the Vigil.

Here in the USA its called veterns day and few even know the importance of 11/11. 4 years ago some girl scouts were comeing through on a tour and while on patrol we crossed paths. They were all going on about the Iraq war and what I thought about it. When I asked them what made today so special they all just gave me a blank look. I explained to them what the day was all about and told a few quick stories about the war from a WWI book I have. As they walked off I heard one girl ask her mom "mom why don't they teach us about that war?" I just shook my head and wondered what is wrong with the education system here in the US.

I think the teaching of History in general is going down the toilet.


It's a shame, we will repeat the mistakes if we don't remember and learn.
