religious fervor has made them see the devil instead of a naked guy

Sad but true, alot of the African tribes believe in arcane things that would make you or I scratch our heads, very sad a child had to die because of it.

Culture-bound syndrome
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In medicine and medical anthropology, a culture-specific syndrome or culture-bound syndrome is a combination of psychiatric and somatic symptoms that are considered to be a recognizable disease only within a specific society or culture. There are no objective biochemical or structural alterations of body organs or functions, and the disease is not recognized in other cultures. While a substantial portion of mental disorders, in the way they are manifested and experienced, are at least partially conditioned by the culture in which they are found, some disorders are more culture-specific than others.

your religious fervor is supposed to make the cracker taste like a slice of human flesh

Nice try but hardly the case.

You faith clearly isn't strong and your belief sullied by worldly cynicism.

I bet you have to fake babbling in tongues and convulsing on the floor.

Wifes Cahtolic, I'm Non-thesist. The cracker is representative of the flesh, the wine represenative of the blood, while I don't submit myself to the dogma of organized religion I would in no way equate western christianity with African taboos and superstitions.
Plus when I convulse and speak in tounges it's due to way too much rum, no faking... and the wife just leaves me to sleep it off rather than fleeing in fear of imagined devils.

Trust me, when Christians go whole hog enough it's just as insane from an objective standpoint.

Luckily that is out of vogue in most places though.
