And seriously, would women want that? Would we want the donor to help raising our children conceived by donation? Methinks not!! Isn't that the whole reason of using anonymous donors?

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would go that route in the first place. The whole thing is just seems so wrong.

Option A) Go to Bar for a random sperm sample. Known Fact: He's a drunk.

Digging for back child support is what or just financial aid maybe, although it's possible here she really does have health issues, maybe she wants one of his kidneys. Wouldn't that be a conundrum for a donor.

One never knows what the courts will do these days, I remember reading about an Australian court awarding child support to a woman who fished out her boyfriend's contraceptive from the garbage to self inseminate (without his knowledge or consent of course). I've just found a number of cases where the courts have awarded child support by donors but usually if they became involved with the child.

It seems to me that that no matter how the guy was coerced, lied to cheated on or whatever, the courts will err on the woman's side if the man has any connection to the children at all. If I were male, there is no way I would ever donate sperm.

this is interesting reading, maybe mandatory DNA testing immediately after birth would help.

This 'child' is an adult, and for as far as i know, too late for any child support claim.

She is 28. Her father has no obligation anymore to support his child in ANY way.

A complete medical history of the donor should be presented to the birth-mother prior to insemination and such documentation kept by the family and included in the child's medical history. Other than that, that is all they need to know if the donor requested anonymity.

There are many emotional factors involved when it comes to IUI ir IVF treatments, as well as donations. Unless you have gone through it you will never be able to totally understand why a person does it.

We did not have to use a donor, but we did have to have IUI done for 3 of our 4 kids. Yes, we could have adopted but we could not afford it and we wanted biological kids first. We have not ruled out adoption/fostering later when our kids are older.

As long as the donation process was in line with the existing rules, regulation and laws that were in force at the time of donation, there is no case. The only thing that should be given to her is her donor father's medical history if it still exists.
