Forgive me, guys, I've never been able to understand the abject hatred some of you have for Palin anymore than I understand the abject hatred some people have for Obama.

Derision isn't hatred. Hard to hate something you laugh at.

I don't like her because he is a hypocrite. Telling everyone no sex until marriage yet she has a kid who is a teen mom. Also she wants to being back god back into politics again.

Also she quit her freaking job as governor because she could not handle it. If she can't do that how in hell she can be President.

Sorry, I don't get why Canadians would want to go see her either. At best she's an entertaining irrelevancy to us here in Canada and at worst a non-entertaining irrelevancy to Canadians. I'm not too sure why Canadians would even be interested in her governorship of Alaska. Also, why would she be starting her kick to the oval office by speaking in Canada? She really isn't anyone of any importance so I guess I wouldn't pay 49 cents or walk across the street to listen to her. Just my opinion.

Okay, then. Deriding the most popular US governor of recent decades ignores the woman's actual and impressive accomplishments.

Even if you don't like her, underestimating her is rather foolish as she's proven to be a tough and shrewd tactician.

Here's an example of your paying more attention to propaganda than actual facts. You owe it to yourself to read up on why she resigned and not just base your opinions of her on the editorial page of the Guardian.

You're not interested. So noted. Yet she had no problem filling a room to capacity with your fellow Canadians at $500 per seat. Apparently they see something in her you don't.

You're not curious as to what that is?

She left because of all the ethics charges against her that she had to fight. She could not handle being governor and fighting those ethic charges. Yet I seen Democrats fighting more ethic charges than her yet they still stayed at their jobs.

Nope, and I don't think they "see" anything in her. When the circus comes to town, they pack the stands for that too. It's just entertainment. I'm going to a hockey game tomorrow night and fully expect to pay $300+ to buy a pink jersey, $500 to see her dog and pony show isn't that far out. (As long as the food was good that is)

Alaska law on ethics charges is far different from any other state. The problem she had was that during and after the election she was inundated with ethics charges by people from outside of Alaska and, under the law, she was obligated to answer each charge. When she resigned she noted that she was doing so because to do elsewise meant spending every day answering ethics charges. Ironically, she's the person who sponsored the law that requires all ethincs charges to be answered. No one ever expected it would be abused as it was.

Do note that each and every one of those charges has now been dismissed for lack of evidence.

She was targeted by activists and hounded out of her job.

And because she's on a mission from God - same as Bart's mission on this forum. Gotta convert the heathens.

If she was a good leader should of stayed on and fight them. Yet, she found an easy excuse to get our of the job, so she can focus on herself trying to become President.

Strange that you don't see Obama running away from the job even after all the open hatred and malice that he's been subjected to for almost two years.

Palin quit so she could become a major player in the FUX News and lecture circuit spotlight. It's an incredibly easy way to become incredibly rich. Republicans love the political part but they absolutely detest the minutia that governing requires. It stands to reason that an empty-headed vessel like Palin had a limit to tolerating the administrative tedium that an effective chief executive has to endure. You betcha, this bimbo ever gets into the White House (and God save the entire planet the day that nightmare occurs) she'll only be there to rubber-stamp whatever insanity her handlers and controllers want to have as policy and law.

I wouldn't walk across the street to hear her either. But I wouldn't walk across the street to hear Obama speak. At least she's better to look at. Doesn't matter Dem or Rep the only times US thinks of Canada is when they are figuring how to screw us. Canadians for Obama, now there is a group of whackos
