RKC RKC:
Much ado about nothing.

If it were a school board in Quebec spending $5000. on english keyboards I doubt anyone here would have an issue with it or would it have even been a topic posted.

Hey Bruno..neeeooommmm. The school is an ENGLISH language school being forced to use french keyboards for the faculty. It's not voluntary..it's MANDATORY! See the difference??

Acutally Riverside School Board is an English School Board and not a school!
Anyone with a standard keyboard can do french accents easily. Its just easier to have french ones. à â ä è é î ë etc.. well you get the picture.

I'm French Canadian, lived in Québec most of my life and a programmer.

I've never even had a French keyboard and I get along fine... I know where all my accents are... ç à ô è é ï

nice to meet you.

I'm Canadian, my familiy is of french origin and they go back to the late 1700s in montreal according to RC archives that my father researched,

but I am Canadian. I am not FRENCH Canadian, I am not ENGLISH Canadian, I am simply Canadian.

See my avi... I am Canadian first... and I think most people here know that.

Just trying to get the point across that I don't see a need for a French keyboard, even though I've been typing in French for years.

And it's the same when working on a French keyboard. At least when I did I could set it to use English key configurations. I guess it might be hard still for those who need to look at all the keys to type but really, Anglos out there need to learn to better pick their battles and this is not a good choice.
