Wada Wada: Ever wonder how many people who hate smokers actually think about the harm they are causing society by getting behind the wheel, or flying or boating or mowing their beloved lawns and etc. I'm guessing less than 2 percent. Bah! and Humbug! So you only smoke, you don't do any of those other things? I mean smokers who advance this argument would have a point if they all lived in mud huts and didn't use mod cons. But smoking seems to go along with not giving a shit about the environment - if you don't care about your lungs why would you? make the smoking warnings big enough there's only room enough for the brand name, not for attractive packaging. It doesn't prevent the smokers from getting their fix. Since I believe in drug legalization I can't logically be for banning smoking. But tobacco should be under the same strict regulation that legalized marijuana would be.

Agree, I'm not smoking, but I breath this shit near the people that are doing this. Most of all my friends are smoking, it sucks=)) Need capital punishment for it Freedom for no smokers!

You could wrap the pack of cigs in a poster size piece of advertising. The only difference it would make would be some posters would end up on dorm walls next to Lady Gaga. Oh and I walk, paddle a canoe or kayak and haven't mowed a lawn in some 15 years.

supposedly if most of the pack is covered with the warnings it does have an effect. Not because the warnings themselves work, but because there's no pretty packaging to attract people. The cig companies are against it because it might cut down on sales, but it certainly would not increase their costs any.
You must live on some hinterland Indian reserve if all you do is walk or paddle.

Actually the reserve is a mile or more from where I live, which is two minutes from the ocean and five minutes from a lake system. Haven't owned a car for almost twenty-five years but do take rides with friends on occassion. I'm not perfect...I still smoke.

We all have our vices. If yours is smoking, go at it. I just think your vice should be treated like any other drug. And I would certainly appreciate it if you didn't blow smoke around me. Makes me retch while I'm trying to push my pushmower. (You see I am perfect).

I never have had any patience for that BS, and still don't.

ASLplease ASLplease: PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9: Caution: Anti-smoking groups contain a HUGE amount of self-righteous smugness I'm not sure if that is true. Smoking is just one of those things that even former smokers think is @$^&, *%^$&*@ing, and effen #$%&@* to do. You'll have to quit for a few years before you figure out what those words are. Ummm I quit smoking ages ago. The difference is, I recognize it as an addiction, not a "filthy habit". I didn't get all sanctimonious and self righteous on my friends and family that still smoked.

Sure you are. Smokers are nature lovers just like pot smokers are. We're smoking a plant.

I bet a lot of smokers on this forum get all self-righteous about "those scummy drug addicts" and how they should be locked up, or even shot. (I've read just such statements on this forum.)
