I guess Western foilers are happy to have a "world leader" recognize and propagate their silly little plots and websites. I mean what harm can it do right ?

Lots of harm.

He's just doing it to annoy the Yanks and win more chums in the Muslim masses who believe any old bollocks if it involves the US looking bad.

Lets face it, a lot of Yanks believe it was some kind of US plot, why not that crazy Iranian wanker too?

What a wasted opputunity, these are moments when people can actually voice their actual grievances or attempt to make peace and appeal to the voice of reason. But instead you get this.

Looks like he was speaking more to make his bosses at home happy instead of actualy addressing the internataional community.

Headlines in Tehran tommorrow " Our great fearless leader I'ma nutjob puts the devil US and the satan Israel in its place"

I have a Iranian friend who just voiced a rant that because of the sanctions she has to change jobs now every 3 months because all the multinationals are closing shop one by one in Tehran.

DD, maybe the the beginning of the end of these plonkers in Iran has been hastened a bit.

I'm sure the Iranians who are against the regime will just get more committed.

Thanos Thanos:
A proud moment for Canada, in that our delegates boycotted his appearance beforehand so we weren't in attendance for even a moment of that sick fucker's ranting.

I have to agree here, the Canadian delegation knew what was coming and rather than listen to his oral flatulence decided that coffee at Starbucks would be a much better us of time. Our delegation should have done the same.

I'm sure THe Iranians might have been better under the Shah, That I don't know but they forced him out.

They may do the same thing with this group in power there.

Perhaps a Turkish style seclar government might work there, Theye can be as Islamic as they want , but the government stays out of it.

You'd be surprised GT. The population in Iran has an average age of 26/27 and almost every Iranian I know or have spoken to in this age bracket and above are actually atheists or totally against a religious govt. And no one can blame them after 3 decades of the mullacracy.

When the people do uprise and overthrow it will either be secular or with very little relgious influnce. But I am guessing there will be some as the majority population is Shia and shias are a bit more, whats the word a bit more "militant" than other sects. So I doubt they will totally abandon it.

Shah did a lot of good things for Iran but was also brutal in his ways. Although a lot of Iranians still would opt to live under that shah rather than the mullahs, I guess a choice between the lesser of evils between the two.

It will be interesting to see what goes on in Iran.

My old Prof was a Persian Zoroastrian and he believes that once the Mullahs are kicked out, Iran will become a major player in the world, in a positive way.

Here's hoping Iran becomes free one day.

Separation of church and states works well under in a lot of countries.

If you take religion out of the equation of the government you deny them the justification of "Gods Law" when they want to impress people, then it just becomes that the rule of law should be made by men(and women) for the beefit of all.

Relious institiution will become a source of learning what is good and how to behave and social support and if some religios figure becomes a nut he is still outside any policy making group.

It seems to work in Turkey hope fully it can work in Iran.
