Lemmy Lemmy:
It's always that Reform/Alliance element that ends up undoing the Conservative Party. It's only a matter of time 'til these people break the public trust.

She's the MP for Bruce-Grey, as in semi-rural Ontario. Not Reform/Alliance at all.

She was well involved in the Ontario PC party before she became an MP. This chick is an Ontario Tory.

Her husband is the former Reformer, but had Guergis been in politics when the Reform and Alliance were around, she'd have been one. This type only mates with itself.

That's an interesting concept, especially since most Conservatives from Ontatio claim that the Reform Party was a regional Party like the Bloc Quebecois.

So if that's true it begs the question. Why would she have abandoned her Mike Harris Conservative roots to run for a party that most Progressive Conservatives hated and was considered strictly western?

Ahh I see you answered the question in the previous post.

We might disagree about the Reform Party but I agree with you that, given the circumstances of the crap going on, both her and her husband should be thrown under a bus.

The Reform was certainly not just a Western thing. They ran candidates in every riding in Ontario.

Maybe, but if you ask most people east of Saskatchewan, they all seem to think it was just a regional party, despite the fact that they ran candidates in alot of eastern ridings.

Not that it matters but, if they ran Candidates in every riding in Ontario why didn't Guergis run for them instead of the Harris Conservatives?

Since she didn't seems to, indicate that it wasn't the Reform party doctrine or policy she was enamoured with but rather, what benefits and perks she could get out of being an MLA and now an MP, just like her future husband.

The Reform was a Federal thing. They didn't (as far as I can recall) run provincially in Ontario.

Guergis could likely have secured a nomination with them had she so desired, given the lacklustre quality of candidates they ran in Ontario.

The point I was trying to make was that people like her and her sleezy husband are drawn to politics like moths to a flame and it isnt' because of a sense of obligation or duty that draws them, but, an overactive sense of self entitlement and if past history is any indication Party affiliation isn't a factor in this problem.

Sounds like the Accuser might not be reliable.

Even without Hookers and Blow, I'd still do her.

That stuff is just not good. I've been to a few post mortems where coke use was a major factor in cardiac arrest. Apprently that shit just wears your heart out.

Stick to Stella.
