EyeBrock EyeBrock:
Boo hoo. Chretien prorogued parliament four times as PM.

Obviously we were not blessed with Facebook in the 1990's to register our cats, hamsters and 3 year old kids disgust at these diabolical Harperite machinations.

Read my post, hang your head in shame and do something to stop Afghanistan

Boo hoo. Chretien prorogued parliament four times as PM. BOO HOO, cry me a river please [trumpet].
Cretin never once prorogued parliament, and even if he did, it sure as hell was not within the middle of the worst economic meltdown the world has ever seen, and immediately on the heels of the slaughter of 4 more young sons daughters of Canadian Mothers and Dads (and my thought and prayeres go out to you wherever you are) in an illegal, pointless, fabricated debaccle half a world away. Except fo the access to Caspian Oil, Lets go mine some popply seeds, everything else is worthless in our country.. We are on the cusp of loosing 800 direct high paying pulp mill jobs in BC, without a ZIPP for help form the feds to keep these mills going. BC is DYING and instead we spend trillions in Afghanistan and Iraq and now likely Yemen and Iran for wars they did not start. But there is not pittance for helping Canada in all this, Yeah sleaze, you should prorogue parliment now that youve learned that its just a quick call to the madam rubber stamp for it's approval over the tele, she doesnt even the hasslw to muss with the twirly litle locks and 10 pounds of gear grease before suffering the incency to go and talk to this bumbling idiot at his little res. Ah the days - even Cretin looked like a Rhodes Shcoalr who butcherd both official languages compared to sleazie steveie who just slaughters the sons and daughter of innocent canadians

1996 prorogue

1999 prorogue

2002 prorogue

2003 prorogue

You really should do a bit more research on things before posting.

It makes the rest of yoyr post less credible when you get things wrong on the first line.

Eyebrock, he's only going to come back and tell you it wasn't done during a recession.

Naturally there was NEVER a prorogue during a recession. Ever.

I think the point is that prorogation story is turning out to have legs.

Sure wish I could issue an edict to take two months off with pay!

They get better hours than teachers Zip. Me and thee should go for PM. Cushy as bollocks and we could throw paper airplanes at each other across the House floor and heckle each other!

I don't think I could be a politician. In the words of St John of Liverpool:

There's room at the top, they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill.

Ever read the words to 'Dogs' by Pink Floyd?

http://www.pink-floyd-lyrics.com/html/d ... yrics.html

They fit well for the average MP with ambition. Good tune too!

Didn't even have to check your link! I know every word of that song (and every keyboard part, and every guitar part on the whoile album, actually). I'm a pretty huge Floyd fan. Animals is my favourite album. My little ones can sing along to The Gnome and Bike (from Pink Floyd's first album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn)

Akhenaten Akhenaten:
What's really depressing is that it wouldn't matter if they had 5 million....no even 5 Billion, nothing is going to stop any PM from using this legitimate function of parliament to their gain. There;s been something like 10+ prorouges in Canadian history and probably half of them were used to the PM's advantage.

It's like getting a facebook group dedicated to releasing Manson. Ain't going to happen even if God himself joins.

I don't fault the PM for doing this twice in one year. I know it is a shrewd move on his part to hit the reset button on the senate committees and also put him in position to call an election to get a majority. Everyone knew the minority was not going to be stable anyway. The FB page is just a means of protest that is better then hanging Greenpeace flags off of the parliament buildings. It is important that people speak out when there is no crisis to speak of to cause this action to begin with otherwise why have a parliament at all? The opposition has been silenced.

I'll bet that a large percentage of the FBrs didn't even read the webpage, and they signed on based on their knowledge of last year's prorogation

The FB page for 'Nuttella' has 3,000,000 fans.

http://www.nickburcher.com/2010/01/top- ... -2010.html

Using FB as a measure of public anger is less than credible. Check out some of the pathetic pages that millions link to.

I should get into sales with so many stupid people around.
