How did a thread about car emission standards get turned into another clusterfuck Alberta-bashing session?
Listen, if you jokers in the rest of the country hate us so much, grow a set and refuse to buy our products. It'll hurt us hard in the short-term until we find other customers. But until you're no longer addicted to our products, and are then somehow 100% totally morally clean of our dirty and evil fossil fuels, then shut the fuck up already. Final conclusion, backed up by decades of statistical evidence, is that all of you have taken far more from Alberta than Alberta's ever received from any of you in return. I'm not saying to get down on your knees in gratitude to us but it's sure be a refreshing change if some of you managed to treat us like your fellow countrymen instead of arrogantly looking down on us like we're either your servants or your enemies.

kenmore kenmore: Major Transfers In 2009–10, the Government of Quebec will receive $16.7 billion in major transfers – an increase of $4.7 billion since 2005–06. These transfers were estimated to account for about 27 % of its revenues in 2009–10. And it should get another billion ....pay up That's really the best you can do? So we've come full circle now to this: Akhenaten Akhenaten: kenmore kenmore: Don't think Québec will ever be bankrupt... Thanks to Alberta's dirty oil you're correct. ....and apparently you agree. Good. Glad to find common ground.

Lets not forget what the transfer payment program was created for..distribution of Canada's wealth.. ( Provincial and Territorial).. designed to support have not provinces and territorys. Nfld is now a have province and will still get transfer payments.. Ontario did not get any until recent years. All provinces benefit related to per capita. So why should you be ganging up on Québec? If the tables were turned Alberta would be holding out its hand, and didn't they ask for help from the feds because their economy is in the toilet.. so lets be reasonable.. you won't hear Québecers criticizing Alberta..

The question isn't "why are you ganging up on Quebec" unless you have the memory span of a grub worm. It was just 2 weeks ago where Clarest and Ontario were ganging up on Alberta despite profiting nicely from the oil sands.

Yes, thank you--that's been pointed out by Albertans on this board--several million times. And regarding the oil--I have no idea whose fucking oil I'm buying when I tank up. It could come from Osama bin Laden for all I know. So it's not like I even have a choice as to whose oil I want to buy. Maybe there should be a sign for each gas bar: Saudi Oil here, Alberta Oil here. But that would probably fuck up poor Kenmore--he'd have to decide who he hates more: Muslims or Albertans.

He can't ever get a majority without those welfare Québecois.. I'm sure we will do just fine... starting with the billion they already owe us and then some extras just to keep us in the game.

Who is bashing Alberta? if you can slag Québec every time there is an issue, then the occassional comment on the oil sands is warrented.. You guys get personal when it comes to Québecers, but get a knot on when someone comments on ( not Albertans) but oil sands.. an environmental issue. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)
