$1:
There is evidence to support the women’s claim that ski jumping – especially in Europe, where the men’s World Cup circuit is quite lucrative – is an old boys’ club. In 2005 Gian-Franco Kasper, head of the International Ski Federation, told NPR, "Ski jumping is just too dangerous for women. Don't forget, [the landing] it's like jumping down from, let's say, about two meters to the ground about a thousand times a year, which seems not to be appropriate for ladies from a medical point of view."

Don't you just love the bullshit?

Also:
$1:
Mr. Rogge, who has received an angry letter from the women over his Dec. 10 comments, said that the IOC is “definitely considering” women’s ski jumping for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia

Makes you wonder wth the problem is now?

Brenda Brenda:
Personally, I can't believe that if there are men practicing the sport in 25 countries, women aren't in the same countries.

Isn't this about the Canadian women in particular? That was my understanding...

No its for all women, but it's the Candaians womens team who is and who are the only country that want the rules changed in order to make if fair for all women.

But...

Not enough countries can fill the requirements according to the IOC in order to make it a event, based on sex.

Basically that's the arguement.

As it states below, all new sports must be gender equal, so it is the IOC who have their heads deeply implanted in their.......nether regions....

$1:
Ski jumping has been an Olympic sport since 1924, but is one of the few events in either the Winter or Summer Games that does not have competitions for men and women. All new sports allowed into the Games must be gender equal.

The IOC has refused to sanction women's ski jumping in the Games, arguing that not enough women are competing in the sport worldwide for it to qualify as an Olympic event.

The group of 14 international former and current ski jumpers, denied the IOC's claims, and argued more women were competing in ski jumping than in some other sports that have been included in the Olympics.
