I 'dyed' Lil Yogi
bright blue once. Purely by accident! But I still think he looked cool and laff about it. 'Back in the day', my mrs used to bath him. Somehow we got this bottle of stuff to add to the rinse water. I think it was called 'Mrs. Murphy's (whatever) for 'fine white linens and small white dogs'. Anyways 'bath day came around' and the mrs. wasn't home and I took it upon myself to do the job. When it came time for the rinse water, I knew I was supposed to put some of 'Mrs. Murphy's tonic' in the water. I think the instructions called for
1 or 2 capfulls. I did so and not noticing that the water hadn't changed color at all ( like I thought it should, anyway) I just poured some more out of the bottle till the water was about the color of 'blue toilet water when you put one of those blue sanitizing pucks in the toilet tank. I soaked the little bugger real good for about 10 mins and then took the shower hose to rinse Mrs. Murphy out of his hair.
No dice! 
Lil Yogi was the prettiest blue you ever saw. I shampooed him and rinsed him two more times and still no change in color. WTF to do? I thought of telling mrs. that her doggy ran away, or maybe I could teach him to hide under the couch or stay in the basement....
There was a certain amount of 'hell to pay' for my 'screw-up'. And pay I did! And Mrs. Murphy got thrown outta the house! ( Eventually, so did I, but that's another story!):lol:
