Yogi Yogi: Men are not so difficult to figure out, Strutz! Have a few similar things like this saved. I bet they were all created by men.

And if Hilary Clinton had been the one selected to run for the Democrats then we would be seeing a similar but different problem, it would not be a race issue but a gender one.

jason700 jason700: Where does Limbaugh get off calling Obama a racist? What's his reasoning? Limbaugh has no reasoning period. People like him, Beck, Coulter, etc. only exist to stir up the hate of the mob. Collectively-speaking they're all the Julius Streicher of the early 21st century.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: How many people call for the murder of women? Well, as I said there would be a similar but different problem. Perhaps there would not be people calling for her murder but the negative comments about the ability for a woman to be leader of such a powerful country would certainly fly around, think about it. Unfortunately, as far as women have progessed I can't see a nation such as the U.S.A. having a woman lead their country.

ASSASSINATION is a great word. It's the only word I know of with "ass" in it twice.

Well, considering the months-long nightmare of Kim Campbell really can't be counted, neither can Canada. And collectively we all dodged a bullet with Belinda Stronach getting no where near the apparatus of political power. I think you discount the Americans too much. Hilary Clinton probably would have beaten McCain just as Obama did, even if it wouldn't have been by so much. And the Repulsican party is probably going to have a thoroughgoing nutter like Sarah Palin in a position of political significance (possibly even including a presidential run) for the foreseeable future. Overall, the Americans are no more far ahead and no more far behind the curve in having female political leaders of influence than most other democratic countries are. And the nutcase circuit in the US would have hated Hilary Clinton as President as much as do currently they hate Barack Obama. Going by the hideous nature of right-wing fringe groups there's not much doubt about that.

Going by the hideous nature of right-wing fringe groups there's not much doubt about that. Perhaps you misunderstood me. I am not discounting Americans at all. I think it's wonderful that they voted for change (I still feel that their previous election had a questionable result). No doubt Hilary would have been elected had she been the Democratic candidate. But she was not the one chosen to lead the party, Obama was. I honestly can't see the Republican Party selecting Palin to represent them in the next presidential election, not because she's a woman but because she does not strike me as a leader. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens between now and then.

I personally don't equate insults and scuffs of inferiority with threats of murder and claims of racist superiority. As much as people wouldn't believe in a women president, she'd more then likely live for her 4 year term, and in those 4 years she could prove them wrong. Many people here on this forum, both those who support and oppose, honestly don't know if Obama will survive 2 years. No, but nobody knows wether you or I are still around in 2 years. But yeah, the odds are a bit more against him than me though

Yup, there are still classless, silly people in the world. Always will be.
