Take any straightedge and turn it sideways. That would be your geological formations.
No new neighbors, and as far as anybody knows, no increases of water uses, or new water wells in the area...
The geological makeup of the rocks is what makes the difference,is their coal seams in your area or faults?
I think most people would be surprised if they knew how much water is flowing under us right now.
I spent 2 years drilling exploration holes that were about 400 meters deep max but we allways hit water, some holes would be 10 meters apart but the depth at which we hit water could be off up to 100 feet, depending on the faults.
Hard to believe a guys water can turn bad overnight though unless some kind of event happened.
The depths the oil and gas guys usually drill are way lower then your water table is.
Thats where the salt water is and there's literally lakes of it in some places and I think it can contaminate ground water if brought to the surface in some way.
This is where the peeps fighting the coal bed methane wells and injection of co2 in Alberta step in.The only thing is CBM wells are from coal seams and water flows along coal,it wont penetrate it unless theres a fault in the seam.
I know in Alberta if that happened all you would have to do is make one call and the government and company enviro dudes would have been all over that site like a fat boy on a corn dog.
