This Newfie Liberal Senator is a nutcase... Dig deeper into his lifestyle and you'll probably find out he wears a Chinese made toupee, drives a Toyota Prius and cheers for the Leafs...

Senator Duffy tore a strip off him today on the radio. Unbelievable gall, that's for sure.
Still, I wouldn't mind if MPs held their provinces above their parties on occasion.

mtbr.. I am still a federalist. not separtist. I support the bloc as far as their representation of Quebec in Ottawa.. I happen to know and like Gilles Duceppe. But I vote liberal and always will.

It works for Quebec because they have enough seats to matter but I can't see this working here. I drank a bottle of screetch last month just to see if I'd see things the way that King Danny did but he still looked stupid.

newfette newfette: don't hold it against all of us Hey Newfette, Since we are both ''considered'' separatists (or at least our provinces) now, let us separate then. By that I mean, let's go away together, like on some island somewhere. And we could ..., crap I better not go into the details of it.

Seriously though, it seems like every other province wants to separate now. No longer ''only'' a Quebec affair. There were some previous debates, some while ago, on Alberta wanting to part ways, including some other western provinces. Canadian politicians should be trying to unify this country instead of speaking of separation, regardless of their political affiliation.

It's just a handful of nutters here and there who talk about it, and in the case of Quebec it's a bucketful of nutters.

Although, part of the blame in QC is the ''leftist'' and ''biased'' provincial media. Some of those separatists are often mislead by the majority of journalistic opinions, which happens to be very pro Bloc and PQ.

I'm tired of this separation bullshit. Canada needs to find a way to declare itself indivisible, period.

Seriously, separatism rhetoric has ALWAYS existed in the Canadian confederation. From time to time it gets heated (although Quebec is the exception) but often it's fringe politics, especially in a contemporary context. This idiot is getting his face-time, nothing more and if Newfies want to bring out the Newfoundland Native flag, so be it.
