Agnosticism (something like that) is more like a lack of religion. Atheism is a real belief that God does NOT exist.

Proculation Proculation: Agnosticism (something like that) is more like a lack of religion. Atheism is a real belief that God does NOT exist. Which is why if you press the issue most proclaimed atheists will ultimately say they are agnostic.

Yes the same could be said about Santa Claus, is that a religion?
I could have the belief/faith that my lucy rabbits foot will help me win at darts, does that mean I belong to the religion of the rabbit's foot?

Scape Scape: You confuse atheism with the agnostic. Not really, to be honest agnostics usually seem rather nonchalant about their beliefs, that it doesn't matter if somebody believes in God/Gods/Goddess/Mana/Gaia etc, or if Atheists have no belief at all in any of those things mentioned above. I've never seen an avid agnostic spreading his belief to other, or looking to reaffirmation from his peers like we see with atheists and believers. $1: Alright please explain the similarities between Atheism and say... any other religion. The fact that you preach your beliefs like a missionary or a priest, and you need to discredit other beliefs systems, or mock them for your own self-satisfaction. You have faith that there is no God, while others have faith that there is one/many. Just because they lack proof, doesn't actually mean you have proof

I discuss religious issues and I don’t need to discredit anything. Pointing out fallacies in a Bronze Age myth is not mocking it really, but only questioning something.

If someone could show me proof that God exists, I will believe it. Until then I see as much likely hood that there is a Flying Spaghetti Monster, as there is Yahweh.

Not if his workshop is under the ice, and raises on Dec 24th.
Or through North Pole Miracle Magic he could cloud the minds of those who look apon it.
Or the Workshop could phase in and out of our time, which is why Santa can deliver all the presents in one night.

For example??? I'm not about to get into a pissing match with you or anyone else who chooses 'not to believe'. I think it is much more important how one conducts themselves in regards to others rather in what belief makes them act in the manner they do.

Make himself known, pull an obvious miracle some time in my lifetime(ie part the red sea again), fossil bunnies in the Cambrian, proof prayer works ect.

You pointed out fallacies in Bronze Age myths? Hmm...nope. Considering your conduct, you more pat yourself on the back for your lack of religious faith than actually challenging any actual believers in a rational discussion about their faith. Nobody has to show you proof of anything, since proof is subjective. I could tell you why I believe in God and you'll discount it in whatever way you desire. Most other believers on this site could do the same and you'll do the same. In the end, no real religious believer on this site ever needed to justify his beliefs in anything to a non-believer, much like I'm not making you prove or justify your non-belief in God.

What I may consider to be a miracle would in all likeleyhood be 'explained away' as some kind of 'naturally occurring phenomena' either by you or someone else'. Until/unless you experience something which you consider to be a miracle any example that I, or anyone else could present 'as a miracle' in our opinion would be an exercise in futility. To that end, the real measure of a person is how they treat others!

Eisensapper Eisensapper: Alright please explain the similarities between Atheism and say... any other religion. They both have a fundamental, underlying message that they are trying to put out to the general public. Agnostics have no message as they have no belief system (unless you consider apathy to be one).
