Ok, at risk of saying that it never happens to me.....well it never happens to me!

Out of a country of 35 million people, the rates for shootings is absurdly low.

If you are like me, and you steer clear of dance clubs, bars, late night liquor store runs, etc...your chances of winning the lottery are better than getting caught up in crime.

Furthermore, I dont go for late night walks downtown. When I eat at a vietnamese restaurant, I keep my head down so the stray bullets dont hit me.

My friend lives in tha appartments behind this strip mall and there has never been any trouble there before.
And then we get to listen to stories about known gang members that we cannot even deport back to Vietnam (for whatever reason).

If it were up to me, anyone proven to be in a gang would be shipped back to the shitholes they came frome and not allowed to return, along with their families.

I had the unfortunate incident to witness a man head on with a semi in October 07 as well, It really made me hesitate to buy another bike. I love the freedom and riding is great but I have this fear due to my accident and the one I witnessed.
It was truly brutal, I was first on scene and had to pull the bike off the guy with the truck driver. I have never in my life seen someone in that condition. The good thing is that the guy lived.
Being in transportation I always respect Tractor Trailers on the roads, and having rode a bike I'm always on th ewatch for them.
I have been looking at a Gold Wing, or possably a Hog of some sort.

yeah i have seen some crap too...
I live on the simple one.. when it's time, it's time.

GW or similar Jap are nice bikes, comfortable, good ride, easy to maintain,
reliable, new ones have abs and gps and blah blah

so of course I have a Softail

H-D are quite different rides from the Japanese bikes,
make sure you test ride a couple different scoots before you pick one.

One thing I will say, I've had 2 H-Ds from 72.. the brakes sucked then.
they still suck, compared to Jap brakes.

I had an '84 1100 Cow ( well, 2 actually ) that would stop on a dime.
My '03 Softie still needs a half hour notice before anything happens .. ha ha ha
