While I'm sorry the guy missed it makes you wonder what the hell the Secret Service was doing at the time? Aren't these guys suppose to take bullets for the President, yet they're too slow to protect him from a couple of shoes? I would've thought one of the Secret Service guys would have pulled out his side arm and dropped the guy. Guess someone is going to lose their job.

I thought W handled that well. And I've never said that about W before!

I have more respect for leaders that can take something like that gracefully. Not like Ralph Klein who damn near broke out in tears after getting pied. Pretty sure he pressed charges. My favorite is still Ahnoldts reaction... the governator takes an egg to the face, just smiles and says "tell that guy he owes me a pancake and two sausages." That's class.

Kinda funny that the Secret Service didn't even move when the first one was thrown. Be even more funny if Bush did get smacked.

Gotta give it to him though, nice dodge.

I was actually listening to a radio show about this. What they said was that there was one Secret Service agent in the room (since it's pretty small, and because they're in a foreign country), and the Secret Service wasn't worried about any assassination threat since most of those reporters were checked for weapons and explosives before entering the room.
