Certaintly the hockey industry doesn't hold the same power as it once did. It essentially allows for other sports to be taught. But it still controls all forms of mass media ensuring hockey games are always broadcasted during primetime.

If he stayed in Canada, he would of certaintly had his teeth broken by fast traveling hockey pucks, and his feet welded to skates as to ensure hockey is the only sport he can play.

Personally, I like McCain better than Obama.

He's more left than most Republicans and he has the political experience to do a good job. He knows what happens in wars and I honestly think he has a far better idea of what needs to be done than Obama does. Of course, if McCain picks some right wing lunatic for his running mate, than I'd likely change my position.

Basketball was invented before we even had television. Hell, Basketball was invented before the NHL was even thought of. Sure, we had hockey, but there was no mass media love of it. There were dozens of little amateur leagues and college teams.
