koizumi koizumi: snuggles61 snuggles61: uwish uwish: Yes we are hungry
lets get a CPC majority and finally start changing some of these idiotic laws.. I was choked with Harper's crime bills,He didn't even touch the Young Offenders Act. What's up with that?? We need to eliminate the YCJA altogther and send youth criminals to teen care centres so that they could be rehabilitated. Much better than the right-wing neocon view that teens need to be in prison. Well I voted for Harper and had high expectations,I thought he would at least make some changes to the Young Offenders Act,he even promised he'd scrap the gun registry,he didn't,in fact he asked the public to comply with the existing law,but the kicker was when he asked for stiffer penalties for drug offenses with special emphasize on marijuana cultivation with Stockwell Day stating that very small pot growers are nothing more than people who wish they could grow big but can't.Also implementing a law to test for marijuana intoxication while driving.Living in Winnipeg,Saskatoon, and Regina I've seen street violence escalate 100 fold in the past 30 years.I'd like to see jackasses who bust a guy's jaw in a bar fight go to jail and pay the doctor's bill instead of our medi-care paying it.If there's anyone out there who believe Harper is doing a fine job of addressing crime please fill me as to what I'm missing.

ziggy ziggy: koizumi koizumi: Dion is the next Prime Minister, like it or not. The west was, is, and will always be inferior politically to the almighty Eastern Canada.
You western corporate suckups better run, because your god Steve Harper is about to be unemployed. Be more then just harper unemployed if his carbon tax go,s through and you cant afford to gas up your vehicle. If that goes through, Zig. I wonder which will be the cheapest way of surviving the winter months in the East. A. Park the car so they can afford to pay for their heating oil and NG. ( which will be taxed ) B. Close the house down for the winter and live in the car. I guess we really shouldn’t care in a way, we’ll be keeping our houses warm and toasty burning that free NG we get out here.

I would like to see a conservative majority this fall because, frankly, they deserve it.
But I also would like to see a Dion minority because I feel that it will lead to a conservative majority.

I dont think Dion will win. Every news article I read just slams him on his stupid carbon tax idea. I think the contrary is true to what people here are saying-more people are leaning conservative. I think If Harper had a majority government that he could actually get things done and be more aggressive when trying to legislate some changes. I will be voting Harper.

There will NEVER be a Conservative majority. The liberls, at their lowest during the peak of the scandal still managed to hold a sway of power, they pigeon-holed the cons into a minority. Now that Ontario and Quebec have fallen back in line with the libs, I can't see the cons really gaining anything. Even as a united "right wing" party, a minority is all they can hope for.

I love it. Let's remember Dion's record on this: "This government is destroying Canada.. but we won't stop it" "This government is destroying Canada.. but we won't stop it" "This government is destroying Canada.. but we won't stop it" .... etc.
The Federal Libs are broke, suffering with a huge donation slump, there's 2 major lawsuits on the near horizon and 4 by-elections on the way. Good luck with that Dion.
Someone mentioned that the election needs to be done before the winter fuel bills start comming in and reminding people what Dion's everything tax will really cost.

mtbr mtbr: I hope winter hits S Ontario early dis year...I mean this year with a big wallop of freeze your ass in October cold! I don't know if most of the people in Southern Ontario are capable of making the connection between the need to heat your home and the cost of propane, fuel oil, natural gas, electricity... They will just vote Liberal like they always have. Apologies to those down south who have use of both sides of their brains...

A lesson in politics for local student Posted By PAUL CLUFF, Staff Reporter Posted 1 hour ago
A high school student invited to Liberal Leader Stephane Dion's appearance in Stratford left the event disappointed.
Gabrielle Arkett of St. Pauls was looking forward to the town hall-style forum July 11 but afterwards felt "used" by the party as a poster child for the next generation of Liberals.
She was introduced to Liberal party supporters but felt they were pushy and talked at her, not with her, as she was whisked around a portion of the renovated Festival Theatre lobby.
The Liberal leader was in the area recently to talk about the Green Shift, the Liberals' new environmental plan promising taxes on pollution and a reduction in income tax.
The 15-year-old said she didn't feel that Mr. Dion sufficiently explained the Liberals' new plan in a brief, eight-minute address.
A portion of his speech was spent attacking Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
"I had no idea what the Green Shift was at the end of it," the Central Secondary School student said.
"Copies (of the Green Shift) should have been handed out so people could ask good questions."
Ms. Arkett said advertising the event as town hall discussion was misleading because there was not enough opportunity to ask questions about the Green Shift and other topics.
The biggest frustration was a quick handshake and photo with Mr. Dion. She was hoping to ask a few questions that she spent a fair amount of time formulating with her dad.
The Perth-Wellington Federal Liberal Riding Association wanted a young, environmentally conscious student to attend the event, said Perth-Wellington federal Liberal candidate Sandra Gardiner.
Did she really expect anything more?
