When a black person says I'm proud to be black I think they mean; the fight that black people have had to overcome and are still overcoming to have equal rights.

I don't understand when a white guy says "I'm proud to be white," what is he proud of?

Hold on Trit. Little uncalled for. Brenda has only expressed her opinion on this particular story. There is no need to categorize her along with all Europeans as Nazi supporters.

Either way, people have a right of opinion. Like that parent. Had she, for instance, slapped or hit her daughter simply because she could have refused to wear the markings, then that would be considered abuse. But she did not.

But as stated previously, there is nothing here that would justify the Child And Family Services taking away her children. What people do or have in their household is their own right. It's not like they found explosives or anything, all they found was a friggin flag. Although, it could be viewed as offencive, nobody, including the kids, got hurt in the process.

What, the truth hurts?? What are you defending Brenda, really, are you even thinking of what the swastika symbolized, the hatred, the million of oppressed people and murdered under that symbol.

Yet, you are defending a women to paint that on her children's arm. WTF!!!

Anyone who defends the use or the right to use such a deplorable symbol to promote one's race, is nothing less than a racist themselves.

As I said, the swastika is a symbol of hate & the Nazi Party, ref; 53000 Canadians gave their lives to fight against this oppression.

To defend this symbol, to defend it's use in Canada is to spit on the graves of those soldiers who died to liberate many European nations from this oppression.

Black people have pride in the colour of their skin and their community, just as do Japanese, Chinese and many other peoples.
I'm very proud of what the western European people have created. I'm not religious but I'm proud that the Christian church was the driving force in literacy and education. I'm proud that these peoples developed North America and I'm very proud that we've surpassed Europe.
How can you be proud of Canada without being proud of it's past?

The use of a swastika is not banned in Canada, right? If it is, she should be arrested and locked up. If it isn't, it is her choice to use it. It may be ethically and morally wrong in your opinion, that is YOUR CHOICE.
