Neither story on their "recent developments" on the tar sands page has any pictures of the actual ducks, just aerial shots of tailings ponds. Unless you know of other pics....

Come on Tritium, if your going to add pictures to your posts of an Alberta topic. Could you at least use actual pictures from Alberta.

There aren't any (that I know of) as photographers were very conveniently kept away from the scene for "safety" reasons.

Bull. Shit.

Lets see there was rotting spring ice around the pond with 2 feet of fresh snow covering it, hard to tell where the shoreline was, that seems to be a safety concern to me.

The photogs could of been at the airport, getting pictures, as the ducks were being carried off the executive jet with the IV’s stuck in their wings.

Do you think oil companys like this kind of publicity? I have worked in the oil industry for 30 years and there are some really big changes since the 1970's, the big oil companys are spending big bucks as well changing procedures for handling the enviroment. The plant I work at has spent this year to date about $60,000 to keep waterfowl and other birds out of harms way, despite these efforts 4 birds have been captured and cleaned. Oil spills that were once ignored are being cleaned up and monitered by 3rd parties in ensure the cleanup is complete. I have been pushing to buy an Lrad bird aversion system,

but they are so busy at airports the oil pits will have to wait.

Obviously not - that's the point of the publicity, and the fines.
