Hotter summers. That would be nice. We're still waiting for that one over on the West Coast.

West coast of what? We just had 30 degree weather here in BC.

Hmmm....I was talking to a friend at home today, and he said in Manitoba the temperatures have all been below average, according to Environment Canada, for the past few months. Here we had 34 C with 65% humidity and blue, blue skies. We had a strong breeze which kept the humidity down and it felt more like a Canadian summer day than the wet blanket days we usually get here. Ocean temps around here are actually showing a cooler than average temp as well. if climate change meant a shift to a Mediterranean climate here, rather than the current tropical, it would be a definite improvement.

I have this theory that eventually Spring and Fall will only be a week long each

This is pretty much always the case in Southwestern Ontario :(

Frankly, Canada could use a bit of global warming. Or any warming.

It was 2 days of over 30 down here as I recall. They began June 26ish after a generally cool June by my memory. There were record highs set for a couple of days during the brief week in BC overall. Does summer just last a week though? (more like 3 or 4 days actually). Early June set records for cold. Right now, down here it's summer cool, and overcast as I look out the window.

On June 6 it was like this at the Vancouver triathalon.

$1:
Dr. Sam Gutman said it was controlled mayhem in the medical tents at the finish line where many athletes collapsed from hypothermia.

Ambulances had to be used to warm up the athletes because the warming tents were too cold. It got close to the point where it was not safe to continue the event, said Gutman.

So far I'd describe BC 2008 summer as moody, not hot.
