That's sickening to hear. I can only imagine what your family is going through not to mention the family of the boys.

Best wishes to all of you.

CHILLIWACK — A brawl at Cultus Lake campsite late Saturday night ended with one teenager dead and two others with stabbing injuries.

Corp. Dale Carr said violence broke out at Chilliwack's Sunnyside campground around 11 p.m. Three suspects were tracked down by an RCMP dog squad and have been taken in for questioning.

A 19-year-old Richmond man was killed during the fight and a 20-year-old was taken to hospital with several "serious" stab wounds. The third victim was a park patrol employee who tried to break up the fight. He suffered minor injuries.

Thanks again. I'll be stopping by the hospital again today, my daughter is already there, she stayed later and slept at my dad's who's closer by.

Right now that they know they don't need to do any surgery, and hopefully it will stay that way, he just needs to lay there and heal, so he'll probably be there for a while still. They haven't told him about his best friend yet, are trying to keep the staff from not mentioning anything about it to him, because they don't want him to get upset as they are watching his blood pressure closely. It's hard, he keeps asking about him, but they keep telling him he's okay and in the Chilliwack hospital. He doesn't remember much yet about what happened either.

Haven't heard any new news so that must be good, but I'll be dropping by soon to visit and get updates. I hope he pulls through this alright. Right now I think the emotional scars will be much worse, for him especially, and for his friends and the girlfriend of the friend they all lost. She's devastated.

Thanks again for the kind words.

As most of you know, I don't usually share much of my personal life here (even that I had a daughter), but obviously this whole thing has been a shock to us all.

1st. I would like to say they should raise the drink age to 21. Sure some kids will still drink, but it will limit most abuse.

2nd. I am very sorry to hear about your daughters boyfriend Canucker, and the other young man who lost his life.

I hope he is getting better an has a full recovery.

This also supports my views on the death penalty in Canada. To many young punks think they can get away with murder, a few years in prison, good behaviour and they are free. It's time that people start to pay the ultimate price for their actions.

If NOT, at least make these prisions more like Arizona's Maricopa tent jail.

Will you post one of him too?

Thanks for the updates, canucker. Most of the stories we discuss here are just that... stories. This has been a bit of a slap of reality and a reminder that there are real people behind the headlines.

I can't post a picture of his friend yet, or his name as the family still don't want it released as of yet. I heard they may release his name on Tuesday.

canucker canucker:
One of the victims is my daughter's boyfriend, he was stabbed in the back directly into both his kidneys and is in serious condition at the hospital. I haven't slept in over 24 hours since we heard the news after a wedding in Victoria. His best friend, and a good friend of my daughter as well, is the one who died and there was another of their friends there that was just beat up a bit.

All of her friends are never confrontational people, even when drunk, the three other assholes came looking for a scrap and starting it (and not over a girl as some news channels are reporting). The guy who died was stabbed 5 times in the chest, my daughters boyfriend like I mentioned in the back right where both his kidneys are (and they were worrying he may lose one or both of his kidneys but he's managed to get a bit better every hour so they probably won't need to do surgery on him). He's still in bad condition, but is alive at least.

At least the caught the bastards!

I'm so sorry to hear.

The latest:

I think the name of the boy who was murdered will be released tomorrow, although it's shown on some blogs and of course the media have to show it. I've heard as well that he had expressed interest in becoming an RCMP officer and the other guy said something about "So would you arrest me if you were a cop?" and he responded something to the effect that he would if it was warrented and that is when the fight broke out.

It's so sad, he was a good guy and never would of gotten into a fight unles it was in defense. It just isn't fair, and I hope the cops keep the suspects in custody and do not release them tomorrow as I've also heard.

Meanwhile, the other victim is getting better bit by bit. Many of the tubes and IV's have been taken out and he's even beginning to walk a little. My daughter has been at the hospital with him all day by his side.

With an attack like this it might be a smart thing for the thugs to stay in jail.
