CHILLIWACK — A brawl at Cultus Lake campsite late Saturday night ended with one teenager dead and two others with stabbing injuries.
Corp. Dale Carr said violence broke out at Chilliwack's Sunnyside campground around 11 p.m. Three suspects were tracked down by an RCMP dog squad and have been taken in for questioning.
A 19-year-old Richmond man was killed during the fight and a 20-year-old was taken to hospital with several "serious" stab wounds. The third victim was a park patrol employee who tried to break up the fight. He suffered minor injuries.
Thanks again. I'll be stopping by the hospital again today, my daughter is already there, she stayed later and slept at my dad's who's closer by.
Right now that they know they don't need to do any surgery, and hopefully it will stay that way, he just needs to lay there and heal, so he'll probably be there for a while still. They haven't told him about his best friend yet, are trying to keep the staff from not mentioning anything about it to him, because they don't want him to get upset as they are watching his blood pressure closely. It's hard, he keeps asking about him, but they keep telling him he's okay and in the Chilliwack hospital. He doesn't remember much yet about what happened either.
Haven't heard any new news so that must be good, but I'll be dropping by soon to visit and get updates. I hope he pulls through this alright. Right now I think the emotional scars will be much worse, for him especially, and for his friends and the girlfriend of the friend they all lost. She's devastated.
Thanks again for the kind words.
