dino_bobba_renno dino_bobba_renno: ridenrain ridenrain: Good law, and about time too. Too bad we probably won't here to much about it on the news.
Funny you should say that especially since this thread was started by a news link to CTV...I'm sure it'll be buried in minute 2 of their national news coverage.

ridenrain ridenrain: Nope. The Libs would rather enable child prostitutes than restrict them. (That's one for you: xerxes)
Yeah, because every Liberal/liberal is child molester right?
Here's a broad message to every CPC supporter here from me:
For the last little while (especially since Dion was elected LPC leader), I had seriously considered voting for the Tories whenever the next election comes. I don't care for the NDP anymore and the Liberals seem to be a shambles at the moment as well. BUT, due the insane rhetoric, their constant denial of reason, logic, and plain common sense, I will NEVER consider voting for the Tories if their supporters here are representative of their party.

That's a shame you would think like that. I vote for parties that meet my needs, not by the supporters on a forum.

That's what happens when your paranoid delusions start to take over - you just start assuming what's going to happen before it actually does, and then get all pissy about that.

Yea, like that was ever going to happen.
If you haven't got a thick enough skin to shrug off one rude comment then you definately wouldn't fit in voting for the Conservative party.

You missed something, MrC..
$1: The law includes a "close-in-age'' provision of five years, which means it would be legal for a 15-year-old to have relations with a 19-year-old provided the relationship is not exploitive and the older party is not in a position of authority or trust.

Oh yeah....I've seen those 19 yr. old guys with their 15 yr. old girlfriends, nope, not exploitive at all. Usually the 15 yr. old girl grows up(if she doesn't get knocked up) and realizes that the 19yr. old is a greaseball with no future outside of pumping gas for career or selling drugs to kids. That age range should be 2 years max, until they hit 18.
Oh and C. Don't worry both your hands will always be the same age as you.

Aside from a very small minority.. I'd say most welcome this idea and wonder why this was ever reduced.
$1: Gay and straight youth groups in Canada have come out against a change in age of consent from 14 to 16. Richard Hudler of the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario claims that it will unfairly prejudice gay teenagers. "My first lover was 17 years older than me. And this is common [among gay people]," he said, according to xtra.ca.
Not that there's anything wrong with that
I guess we lost the underage hooker, pimp and john vote, along with some of the above mentioned folks. Oh well
