That's been the rational ever since they USSR fell. That trade and tourism would infect the Chinese with a hunger for western things and they'd become more open and that would be reflected in their politics.
I hope none of you have been holding you're breath because none of that happened.

Tibet
Miramar
Somolia...

By those examples, I don't think the world needs or wants more Chinese involvement.

There are different ways to be involved with the world... Not everything is surounded by war. Also that was a statement by people in the Canadian Government.

My favorite was the one where they arrested a Tibetan reporter and her husband for reporting on the protest, wasn't apart of it or doing anything. She was just reporting on it. What is wrong with the chinese

The communist masters are losing control of the masses and not only in Tibet. So, unless they clamp down on it immediately, it won't be long before this whole thing spreads to the rest of China and when that happens, it's good by WalMart cause the iron rice bowl's broken.
