philowl philowl:
How many Canadians has Harper left stranded in jails around the world? I remember when you could travel knowing Canadian protection went with you.
A quick scan of Hansard shows the issue never being raised by the Foreign Affairs critic who would certainly have been privy to the case or failed miserably. Either way the Liberals really dropped the ball. (That is if you feel it is the government's role to advocate clemency for every incarcerated Canadian).
Since as a Liberal you feel it is the PMs personal responsibility to influence world leaders to ostensibly illegally interfere in their country's justice system to accommodate Canadians you must be terribly outraged that this incarceration has occurred without a word from the Liberals until the recent hungry strike and ensuing media attention and must be embarrassed by the way they are trying to score political points for themselves at the expense of this woman's misfortune. I mean who do the Liberals think she is by trying to capatilise politically on another's misery? A dead soldier?
