I propose that Canada revokes that chickenshit UN treaty and encourages the us to not ratify it.

Then when the oil rigs show up a joint commission enforce environment regs and so forth. It will be the same rigs whether it is US or Canada so whats the fuss. If it is disputted territory both tax the shit out of them. If the Ruskies or Danes show up then they will have the combined force of Canada and the US to deal with----remember our much feared Sea Kings.

Canada needs to make a REALLY strong statement about our claims in the north. Those northern patrols are pretty much a joke. We need to rebuild some of the bases we put up there 50 years ago. Anything to indicate that yes we do have a presence up there and no its not ok for you to do anything without our permission

No, Saddam laid claim to *all* of Kuwait as Iraq's so-called 19th province.

A dispute over sea bed territory, while still a very serious matter, is not the same as if the USA were suddenly laying claim to Newfoundland (which we discussed with Great Britain during WW2) or if Canada suddenly decided to annex Point Roberts and some of the San Juan Islands.

well, point Roberts would make sense for Canada to annex.

But I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.
