Um, he didn't tell Palin it was for a serious film or a comedy. It was a fucking set-up. I know it might seem a small difference but it's a difference with a distinction. If Palin had been in on the joke, then I wouldn't care. But he was portraying himself as a wounded vet to basically scam someone. Sorry, there's just no way to justify that.

That's Palin's version, no doubt highly selective in what actually happened in order to make herself look like some kind of victim. No footage of the encounter has been released yet so I'll wait until it is. Cohen says he was playing a veteran of the United Parcel Service anyway, not military service.
