BeaverFever BeaverFever:
Oh I get it!

Trump is the antichrist!

Don't the bible prophecy crowd say something about the Antichrst appearing in the form of a great leader who brings peace to Israel and building a temple in Jerusalem before revealing himself as an agent of Satan and triggering the end times?

Mohammed is the AntiChrist and the Apocalypse is still cooking. Has been for about 1400 years. PDT_Armataz_01_30

As to retaking Jerusalem - Deus Vult. PDT_Armataz_01_27

If you want to get religious, I mean.

"From now on, fly into this airport here and not that old airport over there."

"No! Not yet! We have to make the media whores dance some more. Listen to my idea...."

BeaverFever BeaverFever:
great western leader

No, a great leader.

$1:
Finally, note how the prophecy describes a great religious leader of the end time: “He had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon” (Revelation 13:11). That is to say, he takes on the image of (or imitates) Jesus Christ (the Lamb of God), but is empowered by Satan. Historically, a counterfeit version of Christianity fulfills the types we read of in the prophecies of Revelation.

$1:
Yup sounds like Trump alright.

Image of Christ ?
Nah, way too dragonlike orange.

You can get hoppity when the Jews start rebuilding the Temple mount.

Until then, more time reading the bible, and less time pasting it.

Despite the fact that the Senate recently voted unanimously to recognize Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel — a bill co-sponsored by 17 senators, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) — media and religious figures have emerged from the woodwork to condemn the Trump administration for the supposedly precipitous step of announcing just that fact. And it is a fact: Jerusalem has always been and will always be the eternal capital of the Jewish people and Israel, the site of the Temple Mount and the place where Jacob was informed by God, “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying… All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.”

The president’s decision to verify what Congress has made law since 1995, and to recognize a reality that’s been true for several thousand years, shouldn’t be all that controversial. But it is, largely thanks to misinformation put out by enemies of Israel, who suggest that to say true things amounts to provocation of violence.

Here’s the reality: recognizing the unification of Jerusalem under Israeli authority isn’t what causes violence between Israel and its neighboring Muslim enemies. It’s the anti-Semitic religious fervor of Israel’s neighboring Muslim enemies. That’s been true since before there was a State of Israel, and before Israel controlled Jerusalem.

Here’s a brief history of violence and Jerusalem...

But here's the way the above ends:

$1:
So no, sovereignty over Jerusalem has nothing to do with increased Muslim violence. Muslims in the region will not tolerate Israel’s existence; Jerusalem is just a convenient proxy issue for that inconvenient fact. Muslims launched violence against Jews in Jerusalem for the sin of visiting Jewish holy sites long before Israel existed; they pushed for Israel’s annihilation long before Israel had control over Jerusalem; they have turned down multiple peace offers including division of Jerusalem and opted for violence instead.

Don’t believe the lie that anti-Semitic Muslim regimes and populations require the pretext of Israeli sovereignty over the eternal capital of the Jewish people in order to excuse violence. They don’t, and they never have.

Jerusalem is the capitol city of Israel. It's their seat of government.

Period.

There are also two China’s. Yet public pronouncements from governments only ever say there’s one. It’s stupid and it flies in the face of reality. But it also keeps the peace. This is no different.

Sadly for the Palestinians, they’re too poor to properly bribe Trump into thinking otherwise.

Is that some sort of alternative American spelling?

I presume Trump gets something for this. How it advances the peace process is one of those four dimensional chess questions only the Don could answer.

There is no peace process. Hasn't been for years.

It's a recognition of reality.

What Trump gets ?

He did exactly what he said he was going to do. And got elected for it.

Another campaign promise.. fulfilled.

When's he going to get to those ones about revealing his business interests and showing his tax returns?

He could have just said nothing, and nothing changes. Instead, 3 days of rage. R=EM

They wanted since 1995.
Who do you think brought this idea to Congress ?

He gave up a bargaining chip and seems to have got nothing in return. It may make sense for him in his own country but it does not make things easier for US Arab allies in the region e.g. King Abdullah. The anti-Iran coalition just took a hit as well.

Promise Kept: Trump Declares a New Era, Officially Recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's Capital

$1:
Speaking from the Diplomatic Reception room at the White House Wednesday, President Trump officially declared the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.

“I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel," Trump said. "This is a long overdue step to advance the peace process...today, we finally acknowledge the obvious: that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. This is nothing more, or less, than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do. It's something that has to be done."

In his remarks, Trump said the recognition of Jerusalem as the capitol is essential to peace talks moving forward, a message to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.

"Jerusalem is not just the heart of three great religions, but it is now also the heart of one of the most successful democracies in the world," Trump said. “Israel is a sovereign nation with the right, like every other sovereign nation, to determine its own capital.”

The President repeatedly addressed concerns about a peace agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians being hindered as a result of the recognition. He argued failing to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as verified by law and Congress through the Jerusalem Embassy Act, has done nothing to move the region closer to a peace deal.

“We cannot solve our problems by making the same failed assumptions and repeating the same failed strategies of the past. Old challenges demand new approaches," Trump said. "The record is in, after two decades of waivers, we are no closer to a peace agreement."

The President said he is committed to the peace process and will support a two-state solution so long as both the Israelis and Palestinians agree to it.

"We want an agreement that is a great deal for the Israelis and a great deal for the Palestinians," Trump said.

"I've judged this course action to be in the best interest of the United States of America and the pursuit of peace between Israel and the Palestinians," he continued. "My announcement today marks the beginning of a new approach to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians."

After making the announcement, Trump signed a proclamation.

In response to the announcement, the Old City walls in Jerusalem were lit up with the Israeli and U.S. flags side by side.

The Arab Islamic world will now hate our guts over this, but they didn't exactly like us anyway even when Barak Obama was President and genuflecting to the greater Islamic cause.

I'm not certain but I think that Moslems have more rights in Jerusalem these days that many of them have in Sharia-based countries.
