Yeah, I may have to rethink that one after Elizabeth dies.
The future doesn't look very good so far.
I don't see any real problems with the passing of, or abdication or retirement of Queen Elizabeth II, at 91 years of age the long-serving British monarch. Upon her death or whatever William and Kate, the current Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will more than likely succeed to the throne, bypassing Charles, who is the oldest and longest serving current Prince of Wales at 69 years old. If he became monarch at present he would be the oldest person to do so. There has been quite a bit of debate whether he will become King of England or not, he could easily succeed to the throne then abdicate to William who definitely enjoys a much healthier approval rating but nothing is set in stone. My thinking is that William and Kate would be excellent as serving monarchs.
Maybe.
Imagine training your whole life for one job, and then have it denied to
you at the last minute, because of your stupid ex-wife.
I know there will be a lot of pressure for Charles to not ascend, when he becomes King I think he will be deeply unpopular one.
The bigger problem I see is that William genuinely doesn't want the job of King; not a surprise, considering.
Kate and William get quietly criticized in the British press for 'not doing enough' in the public arena.
Meanwhile, the absolute media spectacle shitshow that will be the wedding of Harry will
also lead calls from the progressives for Harry to become King, thus reducing the Monarchy to a popularity contest circus sideshow.
So even if William and Kate become King and Queen, they will have to fight for the publicity with Harry and Megan.
A fight I believe they don't want.
Charles isn't wanted for the job.
William doesn't want the job.
That leaves George, who won't be ready for 20 years.
20 years of the PC/BLM/femnazi/single 30's and 40's women/ crowd to shout for Harry and Megan,
because they so progressive.
Not looking forward to that.
Note the above posts from the alt lefties who usually hate the Monarchy,
but now who are all onboard now because Harry is marrying an actress.
Just wait until Charles announces he will take the throne, then they will
get all angry again.
