I have two thresholds. If one person comes out, I don't immediately assume guilt. If 5 people come out, it becomes more suspect. If 15 people come out, at that point it's probably true.

Then if they admit to it, then that's kind of a done deal. In this case CK has admitted the stories are true.

In general I agree with you at a personal level.

At the practical level I still see fifteen individual accusations that each need to be proven. Even if fourteen of them can be substantiated we still need to take care that no one is ever convicted (even in the court of public opinion) merely on the basis of the seriousness of the charges. Meaning that the fifteenth charge may prove to be false.

In saying this the caution is then to be careful that someone doesn't orchestrate a number of false accusations simply to purchase credibility with the public.

I can agree with that, but I question the likelyhood of finding 15 different people to come out with these kinds of accusations. Sure some may be false, but typically I don't feel like that many is going to happen. There becomes a point that enough accusations will normally mean they did it. Maybe not in a legally punishable way of course.
