Two languages is bad enough, but at least they are commonly spoken around the world and ties us into two large blocks of countries. Adding a language only a handful of people speak is indeed that stupid. Especially when it will get all the other "Nations" clamoring to have their language added too.
Maybe we should tie ourselves to our own land and people. I think it would be a healthy exercise.

I say Cree in Canada because it's the largest and most well-supported native language in Canada. Many of these languages have been completely eradicated. I believe many of these need support and effort in revitalization, but I think Cree has the best chance of surviving the next fifty years.
I have no problem with supporting native languages with funding etc. But not with making it an official language.
