I have mixed emotions about this story. The city has a job to do, I get it. When I lived in Boston it was a pain in the ass as one side of the street was alway closed to parking in the winter for the plows to do their job. It really sucked playing musical chairs with your car every day, and constantly fighting over parking spaces. I remember having to park several blocks from my home in a business that was open 24 hours like a grocery store. It sucked. I would never want to live that way again. My problem with this story is what is the rush to dispose of this vehicle? I mean this was not a rusted out 72 Pinto that was abandoned on purpose. This was a very expensive vehicle. It would be common sense that some one did not just walk away from this vehicle. What if this vehicle was stolen? Is this all the effort the city would make to find the rightful owner? So if I have a car that I don't want to make the payments on anymore, I can just park it on a street in Calgary and I'm in the clear? Good to know.
I think it should take some more time to permanatly seperate someone from their property. When the government wants my stuff, they move quick. When I need the governments assistance to get rid of something, they drag their feet. It took me years to get rid of my wife.

But seriously, when the government owes YOU something, it takes months, or even years to get it. When they want your shit, they pull out all the stops. Hardly seems fair to me.
