They aren't that far removed. Wolves, Coyotes, some foxes and many dogs can breed amongst themselves. I think it even goes as far as many wild African dogs can mate with pet dogs.

There is however some controversy about the Ojibwa and their DNA. Then there is the entire Clovis culture which fades away the closer you get to the west coast and disappears altogether on the Asian side, but is more evident as you move further east. The entire Solutrean theory is still being debated and whether a small group of Europeans followed the ice from Europe to North America 20 000 years ago.

On K-man, from day one anatomists were saying he is more Austronesisn than European. It was mainly racists who jumped on the solutrean bandwagon. (How can those F'n Indians claim to be first, Europeans were here before them...)

My own personal theory is that First Nations are descended from the Lost Tribes of Isreal and that the IDF needs to step up to the plate.

As I've pointed out before, there is more genetic diversity between two groups of Chimps living 20 miles apart then there is between all 7 billion plus of us. We're the hillbillies of the primate world. Dogs, coyotes and wolves can all interbreed because they are still essentially the same species. Australian Aborigines and native Americans were isolated from the rest of humanity , a lot longer than dogs and grey wolves ever were.

Don't know where you get that from . There's no debate about Europeans being in NA first. People from Asia had been here at least 5 - 10 000 years before the Solutreans are postulated to have arrived, and the smaller one time group were absorbed into the pre-existing population.

The Solutrean hypothesis was fairly interesting but has been falling by the wayside as more info comes out. Similarity in technology probably arises from the use of similar materials to make weapons for dealing with similar animals. Just my opinion.
