Jabberwalker Jabberwalker:
stratos stratos:
Then again you do not see Christians decapitating others in the name of God. You do not see Christians yelling "Jesus is Great and the only son of God" then blowing themselves up and killing as many people around them as you can.

Actually, it happened for a few hundred years of religious warfare in Europe. The devastation of the 30 years war was so vast, it wasn't matched until WWI.

Decapitation was widespread during this period and it was very often done in the name of Jesus. If you are of British origin, look at the Dissolution of the Monasteries during the during of terror of Henry the 8th. and the English Civil War, both of which were "faith based" wars. Lots of heads rolled because of some fairly subtle differences in Christian doctrine.

Burned any witches, lately? That was all done in the name of Christ.

Oh do try and get into this century, will you ?

Quoting ancient nonsense going on when you were young just isn't relevant.

Some of us grew up, you know.

Well, some of my ancestors arrived at these shores because of those events. That's the sort of thing that drove those famous "Pilgrim Fathers" here, as well. A lot of what we attribute to fundamental North American culture comes from the religious refugees that built the place at the beginning. It's a great big part of what we are on this continent. It didn't go away and the reformation still hasn't reached its final conclusion, yet.
