Brenda Brenda:
You're not. You're preventing yourself from getting unwanted babies and having to pay a shitload of child support. Ever thought of it that way?
And if I was in that relation with a women I'd likely offer/end up paying some portion of her birth control costs. But as the guy on the street that isn't part of that relation, I don't see why I should pay for that birth control.

Just because you have no uterus doesn't disqualify you from your societal obligations.
Right, I meet all of my obligations and then some.
$1:
I don't want to pay for the street lights in your street, your kids school or even the cops in your town. I am not interested in paying for hospitals I will never visit. Or roads I will never travel. Guess what. I do anyway.
I do as well. But what I don't like doing is paying for other people to have fun. You likely wouldn't pay to send me on a vacation and I wouldn't want you to. I dislike when the city I live in spends money to fund, festivals. I think the city should provide the license and offer to rent at cost the area needed, but I don't think they should be paying money to make it happen.
The best case you could make for me to fund female contraception is to pay for one of the long term birth control treatments. Even then I really wouldn't be happy about it.

I pay for your heart attack as well. Or your liver transplant. Or your lung transplant. You have no case, dear.
If their was a male contraceptive pill I wouldn't expect you to pay the cost for me. Just like how I don't make or want you pay for my condoms.
This isn't a health issue, it's a recreation issue.
You are the one with no case.
Gunnair Gunnair:
Universal Health care subsidizes recreational activities just as much. Wrap yourself in bubble wrap and stay off the slopes, bike trails, and hiking areas so I don't have to pay for whatever chance bed shitting occurs to you.
I wish that people that went out of their way to put themselves at risk had to pay more when they fucked up and got hurt. Might be a bit of an incentive above the chance of death.
I believe that some search and rescue operators send bills to people.
However, this isn't a level equivalence. You getting hit by a car when you are on your bike isn't the same as someone that is consuming a drug to help them avoid having children. A closer example would be that you have to pay for my bike helmet, or for the energy drinks I enjoy on a long bike ride.
I don't need either of them to ride a bike, and they don't cost that much for me to buy, but you should pay for them anyway.
