Though for the average law abiding citizen such licensing is impossible to obtain.

CCW requirements in pro-gun states like Florida are fairly lax. It's probably more difficult to get a drivers license or registered voter certificate there than it is to get a CCW.

He wouldn't have "walked" because you can't stuff a handgun into your pants an "go on patrol" around your neighbourhood. Just leaving your front door like that is an offence (maybe several come into play) in Canada.

Based on what?

Zimmerman had fulfilled every legal requirement to CCW in Florida.

There is nothing to suggest that he (or anybody else for that matter) would not do the same in Canada.

Unless you are unaware that CCW is permissible in Canada with the proper licensing?

You ARE aware that only about 50 private carry permits have been issued in recent years? Stuff like "self-defence" and "being part of a neighbourhood watch/patrol" don't cut it in Canada as valid reasons to carry. Not even in the north end of Winnipeg.
IF it were that easy to get a permit to carry, 95% of the people working as security personnel wouldn't be unarmed.
Years ago I had a buddy that worked for the city as security for city property. Even HE wasn't permitted to carry, in a border city, working security in multi-level parking garages at night. And that was before regulations were tightened up.
One's chances of getting a medical exemption for pot are exponentially higher than getting a permit to carry in Canada.

Good luck getting that licencing. You had better be able to prove "A" that you aren't a nut-bar ( ... and the very fact that you want to carry probably automatically puts you in that pigeon hole) and "B" that you have a Crown-given reason to patrol the streets for anything whatsoever. The chances of you being licensed to "carry" like this creep in Florida are a hundred-thousand-to-one or longer.
